'Sivaji' still the boss among Tamil films

Chennai, Aug 21 (IANS) More than one-and-a-half-months after release, 'Sivaji - The Boss' still holds top position and hasn't been challenged by any other movie - except once by 'Kireedam'.

The top five Tamil films are:

1. 'Sivaji - The Boss' - Director: Shankar. Rajnikant at 58 is still the unconquered king of Tamil cinema. Should we say anything more about 'the boss'?

2. 'Arya' - Director: Balasekhar. This Madhavan-Bhavana starrer is a typical 'masala' entertainer. The question is whether it really entertains them! Prakash Raj is awesome in the film, as usual.

3. 'Kireedam' - Director: Vijay. The film had a rebirth with a new end but the change has not made any worthwhile difference. Though it is a hit, collections are now beginning to dip.

4. 'Veerappu' - Director: Badri. This remake of a Mohanlal hit has done wonders for director Sundar C's career and he has now decided to concentrate on acting.

5. 'Pallikoodam' - Director: Thankar Bachan. Though not as good as Bachan's last film 'Azhagi', 'Pallikoodam' is different from the usual Tamil films. It is endearing and nostalgic.
