Toonz, Excel Home Entertainment tie up for DVD releases

Toonz Animation, one of south India's top animation studio, has joined hands with Excel Home Entertainment to release a whole new range of DVDs.

It includes popular in-house titles and a handpicked selection of Marvel titles which are now available in over 500 retail and online stores across India.

"It is great associating and representing India's best animation studio on the Home Entertainment format. Especially with the Marvel range of products we get access to Toonz which adds so much more to our wide portfolio of children animation content and our expertise distributing the same," said Muslim Kapasi, CEO, Excel Home Entertainment.

Excel Home Entertainment is the distribution and marketing arm of Excel Productions AudioVisuals Pvt. Ltd who are the exclusive Home Entertainment licensees for Twentieth Century Fox, MGM and HIT Entertainment to name a few.

The titles that would now be available on account of the new arrangement include "Hanuman", "The Immortal 2", "Howzzattt", "Freefonix", "Life On the Block", "Speed Racer", "Wolverine and The X-Men", "Finley The Fire Engine", "Gofrette" and seven Marvel titles which Toonz distributes. These are "Doctor Strange", "Dragonlance", "Next Avengers", "Heroes of Tomorrow", "Planet Hulk", "The Invincible Iron Man", "Thor" and "Ultimate Avengers".

Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz, said they have joined hands with the right partner, and this association will help their content reach a much wider spectrum of audience.

Founded in 1999, Toonz's client list includes the biggest names in media and entertainment like Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount, Disney, BBC and Cartoon Network.
