He always gets it right when it comes to tickle your funny bone. Manish Paul who plays Mickey in his film is all geared up for its release. India Forums in an exclusive conversation with the funny man himself.

How closely did you connect to your character in Mickey Virus?
I am quiet similar to the character, he is called Mickey, my nickname is Mickey. He is from Malviya Nagar, New Delhi. I am from Malviya Nagar, New Delhi. Those similarities are there, otherwise  the only thing that is not similar is that Mickey is very lazy and I am not. I am always very restless, ready to work. I think that they day should not get over in 24 hours but 40 hours so that I can work more.

Its has been a while for you to get your first film...
Its been 10 years since I have been in this industry. I was never desperate to do a film but wanted a good film to come my way. I don't come from a film background so that took time. I came to Mumbai in September 2005 and didn't know anyone. I was looking for offers but when I think about it now, I realise that I wasn't ready then. If I look at what I was one, one and a half years back, I would not have given myself a film. I don't think I was fit enough. I needed grooming. Things have worked out well and I am happy now that I have a film.

How did Mickey Virus happen to you?
Saurabh actually met me for something else and he told me that I am making a film called Mickey Virus. I said, Okay! My name is Mickey. He said, this guy is from Malviya Nagar, I told him I am too. He told me to shut up and stop impressing him. ( Laughs). The conversation ended there, we went home and after 10 days he gave me a call and asked if I would like to do the film. I took the narration, liked the film, auditioned and did the film. Frankly I feel very happy getting this film because till now people call me the funny man. When I come, all they do is laugh. With this film, alot of perceptions will change. As an actor, this is the best thing that could have happened to me. In this film, I am doing comedy which i am good at but apart from that I am doing some serious scenes and action as well.

Are you a tech-freak?
Now I have become tech savy otherwise I was very lazy. I remember being very bad with computers. They say that our horoscopes don't match. Whenever I would sit, something wrong would happen. Either it would shut down or the paper would get stuck in the printer. But finally now things are fine. I could only hack in the film, I wish I could hack in real life too.

How were all the technical aspects of hacking taken care off?
We had people who have been helping us. We had ethical hackers who run their own companies. They helped us on all technicalities. But we didn't get into too much technicalities reason being that this is a film of masses. Today everyone, even a vendor should go and understand what our film is about.

Did you enjoy hacking?
I am really interested in hacking now. Its wow for me to be able to enter anyone's account. Those things made me really excited.  So people who were teaching me and telling me the details stopped telling me the details as they didn't want me to become an ethical hacker after the film. (Laughs)

Given a chance, whose account would you want to hack?
I would really want to hack Katrina Kaif's account. I really like her and would love to work with her one day and I am sure Madhuri Ji would not feel bad because I have hacked her heart and would not want to hack her account.

Will TV still be on the cards?
I don't think that I will say bye to television. I am already on a script for television. Hosting is something I love. I don't think I am going to leave that. I have got my film because of that so I wouldn't leave it. I don't belong to that school of thought, now that I am big, I would forget my old days. I still have my struggle bag with me. When I came to Mumbai, I used to have it and I haven't thrown it. Whenever I start to feel a little starry, I look at it and come back to the ground.

What have you lined up for us after Mickey Virus?
The next film that I am doing is Tere Bin Laden's sequel which is directed by Abhishek Sharma. The same team is on board and I am the new guy in it. I play the protagonist and take the film forward. This I want to tell you that you wont be able to sit on the seat and watch it. It is so funny, you'll die laughing. We couldn't shoot the film properly at times because we used to laugh so much.

Apart from comedy, what do you enjoy?
I would love to do action films.  We can have a genre which can be action comedy. A lot of Hollywood films are made like that.
