Recently, director Jagmohan Mundhra's latest film Apartment has fallen prey to much controversy. There have been various rumours surrounding the ostensible sexual aspect presented in the flick. The grapevine has been buzzing with the prospect of lesbianism or such implications in the movie!

Earlier, it had been heard that the characters played by Tanushree Dutta and Neetu Chandra had some mutual romantic inclinations. However, now Ms. Chandra has come forward to repudiate all such claims. She blames the rumours on the latest fascination Bollywood and the Indian public seem to have with homosexuality, following the stupendous success of Dostana.

Instead, what the movie does include is some mental imbalances - there is a schizophrenic aspect to the movie. For those who don't remember the disease portrayed by Kangana Ranaut in Woh Lamhe, Schizophrenia is a severe psychotic disorder that blurs the lines between reality and the unreal. The characteristic symptoms of hallucinations and delusions lead to a very socially inept individual, some interesting situations (and naturally, some great Bollywood drama).

On a normalizing note, the movie revolves around a group of strangers and their interactions upon having to live together in an apartment. A centralized focus rests on the issues of space crunch and exorbitant real estate prices in Mumbai, where the roommates live.

This Rohit Roy, Tanushree Dutta and Neetu Chandra starring thriller is all set to hit the theatres this coming Friday, April 23rd!
