BollyCurry brings to you a list of such magical on-screen couples that went down in the history of Indian Cinema.

In the success party of a Telugu film, Guru Dutt spotted Waheeda Rehman and decided to groom her into acting for Hindi films. They were first paired opposite each other in the soulful and romantic movie, Pyaasa (1957).Today, the film is among the top 25 Bollywood movies that are labelled a 'Must See'. Waheeda Rehman considered Guru Dutt to be her mentor and their pair gave numerous hits together like Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959), Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960) and Sahib, Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962). Personal differences and the early death of Guru Dutt saw the end of this couple on silver-screen; but even decades later, they continue to be cherished as one of the most evergreen couples of Bollywood.

Raj Kapoor and Nargis were first paired opposite each other in Aag (1948) where they played childhood sweethearts. They ruled the silver-screens for almost a decade working in sixteen films, including classics like Andaz (1949), Barsaat (1949), Awaara (1951), Bewafa (1952) and Shree 420 (1955). Their last movie together was Jagte Raho (1956), which had Nargis only in a guest appearance.

Their hit pairing was repeated in blockbusters like Khoon Pasina (1977), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978) and Suhaag (1979). Their last and most remembered movie is Silsila (1981). It was rumored that the duo had an affair while filming Silsila; However, decades later, Bachchan still continues to deny it.

Their most successful film together was Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), which completed a golden jubilee and was the biggest blockbuster of its time. Their last movie together as young actors was Dhan Daulat (1980), after which they got married. After 29 years, this couple was seen together again in Love Aaj Kal (2009) in a special appearance. As man and wife, their first proper film together was Do Dooni Chaar (2010), exactly 30 years after their marriage and their last movie together. On-screen, their last appearance was a cameo in Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012).
