Celebrating National Singles Day

This week is the week that all the singles await. The day that celebrates their single status and is, at least for some, the one day in which they can be proud of not having someone on their arm unlike the many couples surrounding them. BollyCurry brings to you a number of your favourite celebrities that have gone through a rough break up and are now happily single and ready to mingle!

Bollywood's Macho Man has undoubtedly had his fair share of break ups at this point. After the controversial split with his ex-girlfriend Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, came yet another break up with the beautiful Katrina Kaif. True to his macho title, it's believed that both gals were forced to end it due to his over-possessiveness and his need to interfere in their careers while they were dating. Good news for Sallu fans though, he's still single at the moment with rumours of Kat linking up with the popular Ranbir Kapoor. 

 

The most perfect and popular ex-couple of Bollywood definitely attracted the media when they called it off. After going rock solid for ten years, the relationship faltered when one of the partners allegedly committed adultery. It seems even the longest and seemingly strongest relationships crack in the industry! Whereas John is supposedly dating an investment banker, Priya Runchal, Bips can be declared single if the rumoured link-ups are not to be believed.

 

If there was a couple that had a complete fandom of its own, it was Shareena! While some decided to accept the reality, others still await to see their favourite couple together on-screen, if not off-screen. The reason for the break up remains unclear but rumours have it that it was Kareena's closeness to Saif during the filming of Tashan that broke them apart. While Kareena is now happily married to Saif Ali Khan, Shahid claims to be single!

 

 

Coming from affluent families, both with backgrounds from the industry, it seemed almost inevitable when Karisma and Abhishek got engaged. However, the engagement did not survive for long. Whether it was because of Jaya Bachchan's disapproval of Karisma or Babita Kapoor's (Lolo's mother) constant interference in the relationship, the couple was just not meant to be.

 

And last but not the least, we have yet another popular ex-couple that called it quits with each other. Although the two had attempted to keep the relationship hidden from the eye of the media, the reality came forth anyway! Though it is said that Ranbir Kapoor's mother did not approve of Deepika, causing Ranbir to end it with the leggy lass, Deepika begs to differ! On Koffee with Karan, she accidentally reveals that the charming lad had cheated on her, hence the break up. Two-timing seems to be the trend in Bollywood for all break ups, it seems! At the moment, both claim to be single but we think otherwise for Ranbir who has been spending some cozy time with Katrina Kaif.
