2012 Wrap Up: Top 10 Party Groovies

Life and parties would be dull and colorless without all those peppy numbers that go around. They make you groove in your chair, and beat your feet until you give up. The 'almost' past year saw a variety of songs hike the music charts. Some of them really kicked off the dancing genes in our body, and here is a peep into them again.

This song jumps from the kitty of Sajid-Wajid in the attractively wild voice of Mamta Sharma. Set up in a rural background, "pritam pyaare" made sure to capture the hearts of the urban lot as well.

 

This was another one by the genius duo Sajid-Wajid, along with the magical vocals of Mamta Sharma and Sukhwinder Singh. The song was a hit with the modern day Anarkali beautifying the discos with her latkas and jhatkas.

 

It seems like the number 786 did prove lucky for Himesh Reshammiya, who gave out the world a groovy hit after a break, in the form of "balma". Carrying the melody of Shreya Ghoshal and Sreeram, "balma" is a recent hit resounding at the dancing venues.

 

The start of the year saw Hrithik Roshan recreating the magic of Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. But Katrina Kaif became the show stealer by moving her graceful body to the fast beats of Ajay and Atul's "chikni chameli". Even today, none of us can afford to say no to the addictive 'pahua'.

Vishal and Shekhar never seem to fail us with their sense of experimentation. No one could have sung the song better than the trio of Benny Dayal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Nazia Hassan. If you have any doubts, one look of the dance steps shall surely make you loosen up a bit.

 

A Salim and Sulaiman creation, "halkat jawaani" sure did make a lot of people run the treadmill. Sunidhi Chauhan lent her voice to the song, and had a lot of people enjoy the onset of their youth.

 

Who wouldn't want to see Katrina Kaif move to the steps of the seductive belly dance? If Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal add their spice to the rhythm of Sajid and Wajid himself, things just get crazier. This big hit from one of the biggest hit movies was indeed 'Mashallah'.

 

A time comes when one gives up dancing in sync with the music. That is when Pritam's composition, full of Mika, Amitabh Bhattacharya and Nakash comes in handy. Just like in the video, 'age no bar, dance no bar', and you get to move your body parts as you like.

 

John Abrahim's debut as a producer sure placed itself among the society with the 'not-so-touchy' genre. Along with it, the song "rum whiskey" also hit up. An Abhishek and Akshay Verma's creation, sung over by Akshay himself, the song doesn't miss any chance to make the weddings raunchy.

 

Pritam did manage to surprise us with this song, along with the rapturous voices of Neeraj Shridhar and Kavita Seth. If the beats manage to knock at your ear-drums, you just can't help wave your body to the signature steps.

 

Last but not the least, since the year saw such great arrivals, it would be unfair not to name them as well. These include "Aa ante amlapuram", "Aunty ji", "Boom boom", "Chinta ta", "Dil mera muft ka", "Ishq shava", "Jhalla wallah", "Papa toh band bajaye", "Second hand jawaani", and the most recent, "Fevicol se".

 

2012 sure was one awesome year with even more amazing music. But it's definitely right to hope for some more groovier melodies from the music geniuses of bollywood.
