21st - 25th July Written Updates

Update:

 

Anandi's mother glares at the teacher and tells her that not even God can stop the wedding today.  She leaves the teacher watching a laughing Anandi.  The teacher becomes more determined and tries ringing the police station but when it doesn't go through, she decides to go to the station herself.  On the way there she bumps in to Purshutam who starts to chatter with her.  She informs him that she is busy and explains about going to the police station.

 

Purshutam is stunned and tries to talk her out of it; insisting that if she interferes then Anandi's family and the bharat will pull out their swords.  However the teacher is adamant and continues on her way.

 

Anandi's house'

 

Anandi enjoys herself as she watches the bharaat coming in.  her cousin comes in and teases her, asking if she is looking for her 'been' [groom].  Anandi is confused and replies that she is just watching the bharaat and says that she feels like going down and dancing as well.  Her cousin makes fun of her saying that she has to stay here and heads downstairs, leaving a sullen Anandi behind.

 

Downstairs; Anandi's family greet the bharat and the pandit asks for Jagdish [Groom].  Jagdish's father carries him inside and the guests laugh as they find that Jagdish has fallen asleep.  They wake him up and tell him to start the customs.  Jagdish grumbles but takes a neem branch and is told to hit the thoran with it.  Jagdish looks up and sees Anandi and realises that she is his wife.

 

He tries hitting the thoran but it is to high up for him.  The guests laugh and Anandi's cousin teases him, adding that they should lower the thoran otherwise Ananadi will remain unwed all her life.  Jagdish spots Anandi laughing and is furious.  He takes a few steps back before running up and hitting thw thoran.  The guests cheer and Jagdish glares at a grinning Anandi.

 

Anandi's mother comes forward and completes the other customs.  One of them being where she has to pull the nose of the groom and lead him inside.  Anandi's mother tries to get out of it but the ladies laugh saying that at others wedding she is always pushing the MIL to pull harder but here she is shying away from the custom.  Anandi's mother gives in and pulls Jagdish's nose and who screams and says that he won't go inside.  His father consoles him and promises him a new cricket bat if he does.  Jagdish finally complies and is led inside the house.

 

Meanwhile, Purshutam is tensed and tries to warn Anandi's father, but he is to immersed with the wedding to pay attention.  Another guest assures Purshutam that the grooms side is immensely powerful and nothing will happen.

 

Road'

 

Teacher is worried about Anandi and tries to get a ride to the police station and finally manages to catch a bus there; but soon becomes frustrated when she can't get there fast enough.

 

Anandi's house'

 

Anandi fusses with her clothes and jewellery.  Phooli [Annadi's friend] sneaks in two laddoos and hands them over to the hungry bride.  However, before Anandi can eat them , her mother and MIL come in.  Anandi's mother tells her to touch her MIL's feet.  Anandi becomes nervous as she has the ladoos in her hand.  She brings them out and her mother scolds her, but her MIL says that it's o0kay and she did the same at her wedding.

 

Anandi starts to touch her feet but her MIL stops her saying that only DIL's do that whilst Anandi is her daughter.  They hug and Anandi's mother becomes emotional to see this.

 

Police station'

 

Teacher looks for the inspector but is told that he's not in.  She rushes to his house instead.

 

Anandi's house'

 

Phooli and Anandi are waiting for Champa who comes in and excitedly tells them about all the sweets and food Anandi's father has arranged for the bharat.  Anandi asks Champa to send some food to her Jiji as she wasn't invited to the wedding.  Champa looks nervous and says that was because she's a 'bhanj' [a barren women]

 

The guest are shown eating the food, but Bhairav's [Jagdish's father] older brother is displeased and yells at Anandi's father for the low quality food.  Anandi's father apologises and tries to calm him down.

 

Jagdish and Anandi are called to sit at the mandip and start the rituals.

 

Inspectors house'

 

Teacher knocks on the door and comes face to face with the inspectors angry wife who rudely tells her that the inspector is not here and shuts the door on her face.  Teaches looks tensed and wonders how to stop the wedding.

I loved the starting week of this show and for some reason, the title song really touches me.  The actors portraying Anandi and Jagdish are wayyyyy cute.  Can't wait to see how this story progresses.
