It is Kanya's birthday. She is sleeping peacefully and happily. Ranbir has decorated the house beautifully when Kanya had gone to sleep. There are red and white heart shaped cushions everywhere. Then there are red and white ribbons everywhere. Pia has got up and had a bath and is wearing a cute yellow frock. Ranbir is wearing a casual wear. They both go upto wake up Kanya.

IN KANYA's ROOM

Ranbir- Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Kanya! Happy birthday to you!

Pia- Mama!!!! Happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kanya wakes up and smiles when she sees them.

Kanya- Thankyou Ranbir! Thank you Pia!

Pia hands over her gift to Kanya.

Pia- Mama yeh lo. Yeh meri taraf se aapke liye ek birthday taufa hain.

Kanya- Thank you!

Kanya opens the gift. It is a portrait of her and Pia.

Kanya- WOWWWWWW!!! Yeh kisne banaya?

Pia- Maine!

Kanya- Tumne? Lekin tum paintin? Mujhe kuch samajh mein nahin aaraha!

Pia- Mama jo pocket money aap mujhe deti thi main woh paise bachake painting classes chale jaate the.

Kanya- Tumne mujhe poocha kyun nahin?

Pia- Kyunki main aapko surprise dena chahti thi.

Kanya- You are the best daughter anyone can have!!!

Ranbir- Okay okay guys ab meri baari!

Kanya- Tumhari baari? Matlab?

Ranbir- Matlab ki maine bhi tumhare liye ek gift laya hoon.

Kanya- Ranbir humari bachpan ki dosti mein yeh sab formalities nahin hain.

Ranbir- This is not a formality. Lo. Yeh gift lelo.

She opens the packet. It is a beautiful red sari. Kanya gasps when she sees it.

Kanya- Wow! It is the prettiest sari that I have seen!

Ranbir- The prettiest sari for the prettiest girl!

Kanya- Awww….That's so cute………………….and SO FLIRTY!!!

Kanya jumps up from her bed and goes out of the room. She gasps when she sees the hall.

Ranbir and Pia- Surprise-Surprise!!!!

Kanya- Wow guys how did you manage…….I am speechless! It is far by the most beautiful sight that I have seen.

Ranbir- There are lot more to go. You wear this sari in the evening and now you wear this lovely slip dress! (hands over a white angelic slipdress to her)

Kanya- Ranbir tum pagal ho gaye ho kya? Main yeh slipdress……it isnt right!

Then Kanya has a bath and dresses up. They all have their breakfast. Kanya is reading the newspaper and she suddenly jumps up!

Ranbir- Kya huwa? Pagalon ke jaise kyun jump kar rahe ho?

Kanya- Job interview!

Ranbir- Job interview?

Kanya- Yes Mr. Ayaan Nanda famous industrialist wants a new secretary and I have all the qualifications. Today is the last day and I want to get that job.

Ranbir- Nahin. Tum aaj koi interview ke liye nahin jawungi.

Kanya- Kyun?

Ranbir- Aaj tumhara birthday hain.

Kanya- Birthday doesn't matter to me!

Ranbir- It should! You arent going anywhere!

Kanya- Ranbir I am going! It is a lifetime oppurtinity. You know Pia will be thrown out of school next month if I don't pay her fees! I havent paid them for almost 2 months. I don't know what to do. You arent gonna stop me! I AM GOING.

Saying so she went out of the house. She takes an auto and goes to Ayaan Nanda's office. Once she goes there she waits for two hours and is finally let to meet Ayaan.

AT AYAANS OFFICE

Kanya knocks at the door and Ayaan asks her to come in. When she sees him her life is shattered. Ayaan looke just like Sunil.

Kanya- Sunil……………………………….........

Ayaan- Yes aap kaun?

Kanya- Sunil…………….

Ayaan- Your names Sunil?

Kanya- Nahin Kanya. Tum Sunil?

Ayaan- No I am Ayaan. Ayaan Nanda. Who is Sunil?

Kanya- Sorry. Mere pati Sunil mar gaya hain. Aur aapka chechra bilkul Sunil jaise hain. I am so sorry.

Ayaan- Its okay. Show me your documents.

Kanya hands over her documents. Ayaan goes over everything.

Ayaan- You are hired!

Kanya- WOW!! Thank you so much!

Ayaan- You will start working from Monday.

Kanya- Sure. Sure.

Ayaan- Be here by 9 am.

Kanya- Exactly.

Ayaan- Okay see you then!

Kanya- Thank you once again sir!

Kanya goes away from there and she goes home. She tells Ranbir and Pia about her job and they are very happy for her. Kanya gets excited and cant keep jumping up and down.

IN THE EVENING AT THE PARTY GIVEN BY RANBIR AND PIA

Kanya is looking angelic in the red sari. Her hair is is left loose and curled. She has flawless makeup on and looks like she has never had a bad hair day. She steps out into her dim lit hall and sees Pia dressed in a pink frock and Ranbir wearind a white suit. Kanya goes over to them.

Pia- Mumsie you look fab!

Ranbir- You looks so….so…so beautiful.

Kanya- Thanx!

Ranbir- Kanya will you dan..?

TING-TONG TING-TONG

Kanya opens the door and is shocked to see Ayaan.

Kanya- Mr. Nanda? Aap yahaan? Aapko mere ghar ka address…?

Ayaan- Happy Birthday Kanya! I was going through your documents and found out that today is your birthday and you live here. So I thought I might as well surprise you.

Kanya- Wow! That is so sweet! No one has been so sweet to me!

Ayaan (looking at Ranbir suspiciously)- So I guess he is your boyfriend!

Kanya- No no! He is my best friend Ranbir! We are childhood friends! Ranbir meet Mr. Ayaan Nanda my boss.

Ranbir- Pleased to meet you Mr. Nanda.

Ayaan- Pleased to meet you to! Kanya yeh lo tumhare liye gift. Aur abse tum mujhe Ayaan bulawoge not Mr. Nanda!

Kanya (taking the gift)- Okay Mr. Nanda I mean Ayaan.

She goes and keeps the gift on the table. Then she walks back.

Ayaan (on his knees)- Kanya wanna dance with me?

Kanya- Sure sir.

Then they start dancing. They dance for a very long time for a very romantic music. After sometime they were basically just swaying away in each others arms. Then Ayaan goes upto Kanya and they kiss.

Ayaan- I love you Kanya.

Kanya- I love you too Ayaan.

Ayaan- Tumne mujhe pehle nazar main hi deewana kar diya tha.

Kanya- Mujhe bhi. Jab maine aapko phle baar dekhi thi toh dil mein kuch kuch huwa tha.

Ayaan- Kanya will you marry me?

Kanya- Sure.

Pia is fuming.

Pia (whispering to Ranbir)- Uncle aap kuch kar kyun nahin rahe?

Ranbir- What should I do?

Pia- Ladki kisi aur se pyaar karti hain aur aapko koi farak nahin padta?

Ranbir- What wha wha wha?

Pia- Aap mama se pyaar karte ho na?

Ranbir- Of course but only as a friend. See how happy she looks with him. Just like how she looked with Sunil.

Pia- Oh.

Ranbir- Pia you know what?

Pia- What?

Ranbir- This Ayaan Nanda looks just like Sunil, your father. Perhaps that is the reason why your mom fell for him!

Pia- Oh.

Ayaan and Kanya come over to them.

Ayaan- So Kanya and guys I have to leave.

Kanya- Bye Ayaan.

Ranbir- Bye!

Pia- Whatever!

He gives Kanya a quick kiss.

Ayaan- Kanya darling see you at work!

And Ayaan goes away. Kanya just sighs and runs inside. Then she changes her dress and goes to sleep. She looks very happy which hadnt been the case for the past 10 years. Eventually Ranbir also goes to sleep. And finally a very angry Pia goes to sleep.

She looked so happy that she felt like she was living her life from a fresh beginning. Then she arrives at the office. Everyone starts congratulating her and she just keeps blushing. Then Ayaan comes and scoops her in his arms and carries her upto his cabinet.

Kanya- Ayaan put me down naa!

Ayaan- Not until you kiss me!

Kanya- Okay baba!

Then she gives him a kiss on his cheek.

Kanya- Ab khush?

Ayaan- Yes!

Kanya- So put me down naa!

Ayaan- Okay!

So he puts her down on his table.

Ayaan- So shaadi kab?

Kanya- Itni jaldi? Nahin nahin!

Ayaan- Awww! Kanya c'mon!

Kanya- Ayaan please nah!!

Ayaan- Kanya!

Kanya- Ayaan tumne meri zindagi main woh khushi laaye ho jo kisi ne bhi nahin laya! Haan Sunil bhi wahi khushi layi thi jab maine unse pyaar kiya tha. Lekin un hone mujhe dhoka diya aur mujhe aur Pia ko chodkar hamesha-hamesha ke liye chodkar chala gaya!

Ayaan- Oh. Tumne kaha ki yeh Sunil bilkul mera jaisa dikhta hain. You mean exactly?

Kanya- Haan Ayaan. Tum toh uske xerox copy ho!

Ayaan- Oh! Waise I hope I am not reminding you too much of him!

Kanya- Aisa nahin hain! You make me happy!

Kanya- Ayaan! Tumhare gharwale is rishte se khush hain kya?

Then Kanya goes and slaps Pia right across her face twice!

Pia by now had broken into tears.

Pia- Mama aap aise kaise kar sakti ho?

Kanya- Main kuchh bhi kar sakti hoon Pia! I am your mother!

Pia- No you arent! My mother never scolded me! She never slapped me! You are not my mother. You are a lovesick…………………………….

Kanya- Pia just shut up!

Pia- I cant believe you slapped me for a person you met 3 days ago! You slapped a person you have known for 9 years for a person you met 3 days! I am going! And I am never going to talk to you!

Kanya- Pia please!

Pia- Bye!

Then she storms out of the room. Then Ranbir walks in looking upset and angry.

Kanya- Ranbir tum?

Ranbir- Haan main. Kanya tum aise kaise kar sakte ho?

Kanya- Matlab?

Ranbir- Kanya tum is aadmi ke liye Pia ko thapad maara? Tum aise kaise kar sakte ho?

Kanya- Ranbir tum bhi?

Ranbir- Kanya tum apni nau saal ki bati ko thapad maaroge is aadmi ke liye? I am disgusted with you!

Kanya- Ranbir please at least you understand!

Ranbir- Bye!

Ranbir also walks out of the room and then they go home. Kanya by now has broken into tears.

Ayaan- Kanya please don't cry.

Kanya- Ayaan I am very sorry but I cant continue this relationship with you.

Ayaan- Kanya what?

Kanya- Ayaan no. Perhaps they are right. Bye. And if you want you can fire me too. I think I deserve it.

Ayaan- Kanya please don't go.

Kanya- Ayaan bye….

Ayaan- Kanya I will always love you!

Kanya also runs out of the cabinet and takes a taxi and goes home.

AT HOME

Kanya arrives at home and is sad to see how Pia and Ranbir are quiet. She goes up and gives Pia a hug and a kiss.

Kanya- How's my little baby?

Pia- I am not your baby!

Kanya- Good news Pia! I have split up with Ayaan.

Ranbir- Really?

Kanya- Why are you so happy?

Ranbir- I am happy for Pia yaar!

Pia- Mama I love you!

Kanya- I thought that it was not right to slap Pia for Ayaan.

Ranbir- Good that you have finally come to your senses!

Kanya- Yes!

Kanya runs upto Ranbir and hugs him and kisses him on the cheek. Ranbir blushes. Yes he really blushes.

Kanya- Kyunki tumne mujhe apni right senses pe laya!

Pia goes wild when she hears that.

Pia- WOW! That is so wonderful! I never thought that that would happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kanya and Ranbir- What would happen?

Pia- Mama you told Ranbir uncle that you love him! Why don't you marry him?

Kanya- Are you crazy?????

Pia- No!

The scene fades. Kanya and Ranbir had the feeling that everything had just returned to normal.
