4th September Written Update

Anandi struggles in the kitchen.  Sumitra sees this and yearns to help but Dadisa turns her away and watches Anandi cooking.

Later'

Sumitra is sorting through rice whilst Dadisa id reading the Ramayan.  Sugan comes in and informs Dadisa that the neighbour wishes to see her but Dadisa refuses.  Sugna looks helplessy at Sumitra before sitting down and declaring that she will read the Ramayan.  Dadisa is pleased with her listens as Sugan reads aloud.  Sumitra makes an excuse about clothes on the terrace and instead sneaks in to the kitchen where she helps Anandi.

Later'

The family are assembled for dinner.  Bhairav asks about Prasand but Dadisa assures him that he must have got busy in work.  Dadisa then looks at the dishes and says that the food looks good.  The whole family starts eating and everyone compliments Anandi's cooking.  Dadiusa looks thoughtful and calls Anandi over and gives her some money for cooking for the first time.

Anandi innocently replies that the money should go to Sumitra as she was the one who cooked.  Dadisa looks smug and replies that she already knew that as she can pick out Sumitra's cooking from anywhere.  However she knows that Anandi made the halwa.  Anandi agrees and Dadisa smiles saying that this is what she wanted, for Anandi to enter the kitchen and at least try cooking.

Dadisa insists on giving Anandi the money and declares that all she will eat today is halwa.

Night'

Anandi can't sleep and so heads downstairs to read a book.  Just then a drunk Prasand comes in and on seeing Anandi, asks for water.  Anandi comes back with water and is surprised to see Prasand passed out on the floor.  She tries to shake him awake but he angrily pushes her to the side.  Anandi starts crying which brings the adults running.

Sumitra takes Anandi side whilst Dadisa and Bhairav take Prasand to his room.

Morning'

Bhairav tells Prasand that what he did yesterday was shameful.  Dadisa agrees but says that he can see Prasand's misbehaviour but not how lonely he is.  She asks him if he has found any alliances for Prasand yet.  Bhairav replies that he has looked but there are not suitable girls.  Prasand retorts bitterly that he understands Bhairav's game ' he has a family and wants to keep him [Prasand] single.

Bhairav is sad to hear this.
