Waxing or Hair Rmoving Creams?

Posted: 15 years ago
Ok.....so for the past few years I have just been sticking to shaving my arms and legs.......but now for some reason I am finding it quiet annoying to go through the whole process.....plus since I have long legs.....I usually end up with tons of cuts

Now I was considering either to start getting them waxed or using hair removing creams

For the hair removing products....I was thinking about either using Veet or Silkymit

So I wanted to ask you guys which one fo you think is a better choice.......Waxing or using the Veet/Silymit products?

Waxing...

My experience with the Hair Removing Creams is not good😆. The hair comes back within a day or two. I think on me it grew as long as it originally was in a week. Plus if you leave it on for too long or rub it in you get reddish dots all over that area and it HURTS!

For Waxing...it takes a long time and it kind of stings the first time but the results are awesome. The hair doesnt come back for like 2-3 weeks. Plus the Skin feels baby smooth😆. Try the Ready Wax strips...theres already wax on them and you just warm it up by rubbing the strip with your hands and then applying to arms/legs. OR you can get someone to do it for you or go to a salon because it is  WAY easier than doin it yourself.

I usually use Waxing for Arms and have never tried legs as it is easier to shave...its up to you if you also want to wax your legs.

welll...you actually have to wait for the hair to grow back at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch i believe...something like that.

i cant remember the Company of the Wax strips but i have to buy a new box and i will definitely keep the name in mind for you😊

i'd advise u to use ...wax. Cause after waxing your arm is left smooth, and it takes a while for your hair to come....and when your hair do come.....they aren't prickly and thick like shaved hair.

Also..if you use hair removing products, it' kinda hurts your skin, will all those chemicals, and hair comes back within two days..and i hate tat stubble feeling

P.S....my cousins make wax at home..it's pretty ez. Or you can buy wax from da store..and ask your mom or friends to do it for you :D

Waxing is better than the creams because as said before, the creams are too irritating for the skin and the hair grows back too quickly.   I have always wanted to get laser hair removal, which costs a lot but then you dont have to do it ever again.  There is also a hair growth inhibitor that works well with shaving or wax which cuts down on how much you have to do either.  But in general, wax takes it off quickly and for weeks at a time.  I have waxed my arms for years and it grows back slower and much finer than when I first started to wax.  And yeah, I have found hot wax works better than cold for some reason.

plus i think ur  cuzins make sugar wax{sugaring} its better than regular waxing

Sugaring

Ingredients
1 cup sugar Half a lemon for the juice 1/4 cup honey A little bit of Molasses if you have any like a drizzle Cornstarch (to powder with for tautness making it more effective) Something to spread the mixture with like a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, cheese spreader or spatula.
  • Cotton fabric (any old thing you can find or buy some strips at a store)

Mix lemon, sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for about 2-3 minutes, until it bubbles into a smooth consistency. I find this a lot simpler then turning on the stove, but it would be safer if you watched over the heat on the stove. If you use the stove use LOW heat. Now move away from the mixture and go do something while it cools a little down so you can touch it safely. A little bit warmer though is better though to use. Microwave it for 20 seconds if you find the need to. The NADS commercial said re heating isn't necessary, but it's no big deal doing so and I find it is necessary as all sugaring products do need just a little heating.

Make sure your legs or where ever you wish to place it is clean and dry. Then dust area with cornstarch so it's more effective as it draws out oil. Spread a thin layer on your leg. Cover with a strip of fabric, and rubbing the strip the opposite way of hair growth, about 3 times.

Grab the fabric end and pull it off very quickly against the direction of the hair growth or the other way if you wish. It will hurt, but after awhile it's a lot less painful. I'm sure you're strong enough to withstand pain. Reheat the mix if it gets too hard to spread. This stores for a long time. I just use a vitamin E face cream container that's plastic since that's fairly big which costs only a buck at the dollar store. Just make sure it's clean and oil free. You could also use a glass jar as well.
