17th September Written Update

Dadisa goes taunts a crying Sumitra that this is what happens when you marry in to a small family.  Sugna comes in and answers back to Dadisa telling her not to talk to her mother like that.  Dadisa is furious with Sugna's attitude as she continues to say that Anandi ran away because of her [Dadisa's] ill treatment.  Dadisa goes to slap her but Sumitra gets in the way.  Dadisa is mad and says that the girl has changed everything in the house.

Outside…

Jagdish is running.  His friends stop him and Jagdish tells them about Anandi running away.  His friends burst out laughing and tease him that this was bound to happen as his beendni was always more clever than him.  They tell him to abandon the search and play with them.  Jagdish is mad and replies that he is going and won't play with them again.  His friends become worried and offer to help look for her. 

Road…

Bhairav and Prasand are shown driving around and showing Anandi's picture around.  Prasand sighs and tells Bhairav that if he and Sumitra jadn;t spoilt Anandi then they wouldn't have to see this day.

Bus…

Anandi gets a ticket for her village.  A woman sees her and sits down beside her and tries to probe to find out where she is going.  Anandi feels uncomfortable and moves seats.  Later the bus stops at her village and Anandi gets out but is surprised to see only desert.

The conductor tells her that the village is a few miles from here.  Anandi hurries in the direction of the village – some men recognise her and call out but Anandi ignores her.

Meanwhile, Bhagwathi [I thought her name was Draupathi] is walking with some women from the village who praise her luck for getting Anandi's marriage fixed in such a big family but Bhagwathi explains her sadness at not having her daughter with her.  She hears Anandi's voice calling out to her but the women tell her that Anandi is at her in-laws.

Bhagwathi thinks that her ears are ringing but she hears Anandi's voice again and turns round, shocked to see Anandi coming down a desert hill towards her.  Anandi and Bhagwathi run across the expanse of the desert towards each other, all the time calling out to each other.

They embrace and a worried Bhagwathi asks a crying Anandi what happened.  She realises that Anandi is alone and asks her where everyone is.  Suddenly Anandi faints and Bhagwathi becomes worried.
