24th September Written Update

Dadisa is annoyed and tells Sumitra that her beendhni has lowered their respect in society.  Sumitra however voices her concerns about how a family matter came out in font of everyone.  Dadisa looks murderous as she ralises this was Kailash's doing and furiously promises to retract double the interest from him.

Dadisa's room…

Mangal [the servant] is massaging Dadisa as she talks about a puja and praises her.  Dadisa looks tired and says that only she [Mangali] respects her; even her sons don't understand her.  Mangali tells Dadisa that she has a soft heart but her sharp tongue make everyone around her cower.  She advises Dadisa to stay sweet with her family and they all will run around her.

Dadisa understands but says that beendhni's; especially ones from poor families should not be given to much free reign but Mangali replies that Anandi is a good omen from the family – they entered the haveli with her, Dadisa won a case she had been fighting for years, and even the barren farm produced double crops.  Dadisa looks thoughtful and Sumitra overhears this.

Small scenes are shown.  Anandi quietly takes tea for Prasand.  Sugna asks Anandi to play but Anandi refuses saying she has work.  All leave the dinner table and Anandi quietly sits down to eat from Jagdish's plate.  Anandi takes milk for Dadisa who is counting money.  On noticing Anandi, Dadisa frowns and hurriedly snatched up the money.  Anandi looks upset and leaves the room as she starts to cry.

Sumitra watches all this and looks disturbed.

SB Room…

Sumitra talks to Bhairav and expresses her concerns about Anandi losing her childhood and doing all the housework for the sake of Dadisa.  Bhairav is also frustrated and says that Dadisa has always thrived of ruling over her bahus and won't change her way.  Sumitra sadly replies that she feels as if Anandi may grown bitter to them as well but Bhairav assures her that someone as innocent as Anandi can't hate anyone.

Jungle…

Pratap talks to Sugna who is caught up with worries about Anandi.  Pratap cuts her of and says that she is more worried about her brother and bhabhi then him.  Sugna refuses and Pratap tries to kiss her but she backs away horrified as she tells him that all this 'paap' before the gauna.  Pratap is annoyed and ask when there gauna will take place; citing that every other boy his age is happily living the married life, but he is secretly meeting his beendhni in jungles.  He convinces Sugna to harass her parents about their gauna until they relent.

Haveli…

Dadisa, Bhairav and Pratap are seated and discuss business.  A woman happily comes rushing in and shows Dadisa a picture of a girl she has picked out for Pratap; adding that she is as young as Dadisa had hoped for and twice as pretty.  Dadisa and Pratap admire the photo whilst Bhairav looks disturbed.  Dadisa tells the women to find out everything about the girl and if they approve; Pratap's marriage will take place straight away.

Pratap happily looks at Bhairav, but his smile slips at the sight of his brother's mood.

J's room…

Anandi is shown cleaning the room.  She assembles Jagdish's books in a pile and as an afterthought; picks up a book to flick through.  Jagdish is happy to see her and jokes, telling her not to steal the book like she stole the money.  Anandi tears up and runs away from there as J realises his mistake.

Terrace…

Anandi is weeping as she talks to Bhagwan-ji and asks why everyone thinks that she is a thief when she had already told him that she will only be borrowing the money.  She asks Bhagwan-ji why he is there for everyone except her.
