About the Show
Anisa (Played by Zalak Thakkar): The girl is effervescent, gregarious, funny and uninhibited. She is from a lower middle-class family. Not the sati-savitri types, she often speaks her mind. She firmly believes in living in the moment. Her spontaneity sometimes brings about clumsiness and disorganization. She is not interested in studying as she is dying to get married and have kids. She tries to drop out from the university – any chance she gets. However, her mother keeps sending her back to the university.
Rehaan (played by Aham Sharma): Rehaan is a tall aristocratic looking man in his mid twenties. After his father was murdered, he was sent away to London due to his mother's over-protection. During his time there, he focused on his studies. He would long to go back home permanently but his mother would not allow him to do so.
He is withdrawn and does not like to express his true feelings. He is also very determined – when he sets his mind on something, he will try and get it somehow or the other. He was in love with Sana but never understood it himself. He broke her heart when he was sent away abruptly to London and didn't maintain any kind of contact with her while away. He has returned to try and fix the relationship, since he realized he cannot do without her.
Sana (played by Yami Gautam): Sana is very quiet and serious. The manner in which she conducts herself in public is very classy. Though from Nawaabi lineage, her family has gone through a rough patch financially. She is very sensitive. She studies people and situations deeply.
Though they had had a childhood romance, Rehan's sudden departure and cutting off contact for 15 years, had left Sana heart-broken. As a result of this, she does not trust him and has decided to get over him. Because of this, she keeps her distance from Rehan and tries to avoid him as much as possible.
Dulhann (Rehaan's mother): Her husband's murder has traumatised her and left her hardened and serious. The murder had made her paranoid, as a result of which she immediately sent away her young son Rehan to London for his security and has diverted her attention to making sure the security of the palace is top-notch and has taken control of the family business. As a result of her strong and hardened exterior, we rarely see her emotional side.
Shafat (Rehan's shayar friend): He is somewhat of a loner. Most often he is lost in his own thoughts. Any chance he gets he will say a shayari. He is serious but sensitive towards his friends & family. He is a loyal friend and will try to help them, whenever needed. Rehan is his childhood friend and they still share a strong bond of friendship. He is a lean looking young man who always wears a stiffly starched kurta.
Jalaal (Anisa's father): He is tailor who is very passionate about tailoring and designs. He is a romantic - poetic whenever he talks about a dress/design. He always takes a neutral stand when Anisa's mother is shouting at Anisa.
Neeli and Peeli (Dadi's assistants): Neeli and Peeli are the two funny assistants who are always by Dadi's side. One always wears yellow colored clothes always and the other wears blue colored clothes. Hence, they have been nicknamed Neeli & Peeli. Whenever Dadi starts dancing, they dance behind her like extras. They lisp / fumble words while speaking. They have a crush on Chote Nawab (Rehan).
Jagat (Rehan's Jaat friend): He is Rehan's childhood friend. He is a comic character as the way be talks and behaves is humorous without him realising it. He is a heavyset looking Jaat who is loud.
Mehrun (Anisa's mother): She is a typical housewife who is worried about her daughter's behavior. She has high hopes for her daughter and gives her as many opportunities as she can afford. Among her top priorities is for Anisa to be a university graduate. At heart, she is a romantic.
Ali (Head of security): He manages security at Inayat Manzil. He has been instructed by Rehan's mother to only talk to her and not let anyone else know about the cameras. He is frustrated by the idea of being sneaky and working at night instead of the days.
