24/10 Written Update

Hey everyone; I'm covering today.  Before I go ahead with the update; wishing you all a Happy Diwali.

Highlights:

         Gehna enquires about Jamna

         Khajan loses his temper with Bhago

         Kakisa makes Bhago understand

         Gehna-Anandi have a chat

         Basanth frustrated with Gehna

Update:

Gehna is cooking in the kitchen but has a lost look on her face.  Anandi comes running in and happily talks to her.  They both notice that Gehna's roti is burnt and she quickly switches of the gas.  Gehna is pleased to see Anandi but hesitantly asks her what happened to her old Taiji.  Anandi remembers scenes of Jamna fainting at the Godh Bharai, being wheeled in to the hospital and Bhagwathi's concern.  She tells Gehna that all she knows that Jamna was really ill and was taken to the hospital.  But adds that she can't remember anything other than that as she's hungry.  Gehna tells Anandi that she will make her some rotis.  Jagdish comes running in and also asks for some rotis.  The both fight as Anandi says that she was here first but Jagdish retorts that he is her beendh.  Anandi pushes the burnt roti in his hands and runs of with the others.  Gehna stops Jagdish from following and promises to make some more but soon regains her lost look as she remembers Anandi's words about Jamna.

Village…

Khajan is eating and tries to talk to Bhago but snaps as she continues to cry.  He tells her to come to terms with the fact that Anandi has left for her sasursal, not died.  A weeping Bhago says that he goes out to work and has some time to forget but she stays stuck at home with Anandi's memories plaugeing her.  Khajan becomes even more frustrated as he tells her that as a father he also feels pain for his daughter, but unlike her he can't share his sorrow.  He tells her to accept that it's just them two from now and storms of.

Kakisa comes in asks Bhago what she did to make Khajan so angry.  Bhago talks about missing her daughter and Kakisa says that ever since Rani has left; she has missed her day and night but makes Bhago understand that a women's life revolves around her beendh.  She [Bhago] left her maayka to share Khajan's happiness and sorrow and like her, Anandi is in her sasural, happily living her life with Jagdish.  Kakisa goes on to say that a man has many burdens and when he comes home, the last thing he wants to see if his wife weeping.  Bhago agrees and promises to share Khajan's happiness as opposed to just sorrow.

Gehna's room…

Gehna asks Anandi what it feels like to be at her sasural.  Anandi replies that it's nice to be back and tells Gehna that like her, she [Anandi] didn't like it here but soon got used to it.  Anandi asks for a story and Gehna asks her if her mother used to tell her stories.  Anandi replies that Bhago did, but for some reason she would start crying mid way through the story.  Gehna replies that this is because her mother realised that the daughter she has nurtured for so long now belongs to someone else.  Gehna becomes emotional as she talks about her mother and the pain of letting a daughter go.

Gehna asks her if she cried whilst leaving her Maayka to come back.  Anandi replies that she did a bit but not as much as before because this is also her house.  And besides, she know that a lot of people love her here, eve Jagdish a little bit.  However she says that Dadisa scares her a little but and even Basanth.

Gehna remembers their earlier conversation and asks Anandi what her parents were saying about Jamna.  Anandi replies that she can't remember, just as Basanth comes in and tells Anandi to go to her own room.  Anandi does so and Basanth starts to put something away.  Gehna comes and stands in front of him and Basanth smiles at her, asking if she wants to say anything.

Gehna asks about Jamna and Basanth loses his temper with her.  He asks her why she is intent on reminding him of the one who is no longer in this world.  He adds that it was with much difficulty that he forgot her but she keeps reaping old wounds.  He sighs and tells Gehna that one day everyone has to die someday and he has forgotten.  He asks Gehna to forget her as well and makes Gehna sit down.  He tells her that she is his wife now and tells her to go to sleep.

Preview:

Anandi is putting oil in Dadisa's hair who asks her if she got dheg for cooking.  Anandi happily replies that she got 10 Rs.  Dadisa pulls a face and calls Anandi's parents Kanjhoos [stingy].

As much as the thought of Gehna and Basanth makes me shudder; I can't dislike Basanth as much as I would like to.  The main reason being that when he talks to Gehna, the majority of the time he acts really nice towards her and actually looks pained when she rejects him.  Okay, Okay he's like twice her age but a decent man all the same.
