Sneak a quick look into Anoup Soni's financial dealings.
How important is money for you? Are you an impulsive buyer? Yes, I am. I indulge in impulsive buying once a month. But what I buy impulsively is generally not a waste of money. They are useful purchases. What are the investments you have made? I have invested in everything apart from shares. I have invested in mutual funds, property, insurance policies, etc. My house is my most expensive purchase but as far as my recent purchases are concerned, a Sony VAIO laptop worth Rs. 1, 00,000 is my most expensive purchase. I bought it eight months ago. Do you feel financially secure? No one can feel financially secure in this profession. I do feel financially insecure because acting profession is always uncertain but I have confidence that I will do great. Who handles your expenses? I handle them myself. What was your first salary? What you did with it? I earned my first salary 15-17 years ago when I was in my 12th grade for anchoring a show on All India Radio. I remember I bought a pair of jeans with that money. How much money do you carry every day? I carry around Rs. 1,500 – 2,000 every day since I am shooting away from home at Vasai for my current show Balika Vadhu on Colors. Do you invest in the stock market? No and I would only invest in the stock market when I have plenty of money. Any advice for investors? Make a ratio of your expenses and savings. One should neither save all their money nor spend all the money that they earn. There has to be a ratio. |

How important is money for you? It is very important to me. Thanks to God, there has always been flow of money in my life. I come from a financially well- to- do business family and I am even married in a rich family. I can't imagine my life with less money or no money. Are you an impulsive buyer? My husband, Ankush does that for me. I think he invests my money in Fixed Deposits, property, etc. My flat in Juhu (Mumbai). I bought it two years ago. Yes, I do. As I told you, I come from a strong financial background. So, irrespective of the amount of work I get I feel financially secure. Who handles your expenses? My husband handles it but I handle some regular expenses. What was your first salary? What you did with it? It was Rs. 900 for the shoot I did for a calendar. I gave the entire money to my mom as I did not know what to do with it. I was more excited about being featured in a calendar than the money. How much money do you carry every day? I carry only Rs. 500 to Rs. 600 due to the fear of my money being stolen. I am a credit card person; I prefer to carry credit cards rather than money. Any advice for investors? I am the wrong person for this. Please go to my husband, he will give the best advice. |
