Sumitra, Sugna and Anandi are setting the table for dinner. Anandi is feeling bad for Gehna. She asks Sugna a hundred questions about why she can't talk to Gehna. Sumitra says its cause Daadisa wants it that way. Anandi asks Sumitra to talk to daadisa, but Sumitra says Daadisa never listens to anyone.
Bhairav comes home from his trip to some neighboring town. He gets gifts for everyone, he happily gives Gehna's gift to Maasa. Maasa yells at him and tells him that she has forbidden everyone in the house from talking to Gehna. Bhairav is shocked. After dinner, Anandi nervously asks Daadisa if she can give some food to Gehna. Daadisa says she can surely do that, in return she will be locked up in the room for a whole week. Bhairav shows his displeasure at Maasa's behaviour. Maasa tells him that Gehna was not restricted to eat..she could eat what she wants by herself. And also Basanth should worry about Gehna and not Bhairav. Bhairav is disgusted and leaves without eating.
Anandi comes to Sugna and tells her she wants to see and talk to Gehna. Sugna warns her not to do that since she will be locked up in the room. Anandi says she doesn't care and that she will meet Gehna secretly. Suguna tells her to be careful. Bhairav and Sumitra are in their room talking about Gehna and Maasa. They both decide to support Gehna in some way.
Anandi comes to meet Gehna. She tells her to obey Daadisa and then she will be forgiven. Gehna says she will never do that as Daadisa is wrong and she does not want to support injustice. Anandi gives her a radio to listen during her boredom. She promises to come again and leaves
