Gehna and Basanth are in their room. Basanth praises Gehna's smartness to apologize to Maasa. Now she was being within her limits. He says that now there will be no more fights at home. He tries to touch Gehna. Gehna withdraws her hand and tells Basanth that just because she apologised, she would not accept everything that Maasa and Basanth did. She takes her pillow and stuff and tells Basanth that she won't sleep in the living room, but in the guest room. She would be back before dawn, so that Basanth did not lose his respect.
Anandi is trying to sleep, but is not able to. She notices that Suguna is not asleep too and is crying. She keeps asking Suguna why she is crying. She thinks Pratap had also come with his parents, so she keeps bugging Suguna about Pratap and what he got for her etc. Suguna is a little irritated. She asks Anandi to get her some water. Once Anandi leaves, she remembers some moments with Pratap and cries. In the morning, Pratap is waiting for her by the pond. Suguna starts yelling at Pratap about what his parents conveyed the previous night. She asks Pratap if he would really leave her and marry someone else. Pratap tells her that both him and Suguna were obligated to listen to each others' parents. Just the way Suguna can't oppose her parents decision to delay her gauna, he could not disobey his parents too. He also reminds Suguna that upon her insistence, he had asked his parents to talk to Suguna's parents. Suguna warns Pratap that she had accepted him as her husband body and soul. Also if Pratap marries someone else, she would kill herself. She leaves crying. Pratap is sad and helpless.
Pratap comes home and talks to his parents. His father is not ready to listen to Pratap. He says that upon Pratap's forcing they had repeatedly asked Suguna's parents to get her gauna done. And repeatedly, they were refused. They had to think about their own respect. And in order to do that they wouldn't hesitate to get Pratap married again if Suguna's parents don't agree to her gauna. Pratap is unable to convince his parents.
Gehna comes to Sumitra and talks to her about Suguna. She asks Sumitra to agree to Suguna's gauna. She reminds Sumitra about how she had said the same thing a few days ago. Sumitra asks Gehna if Suguna told her anything about this. Gehna says Suguna said nothing. She is about to say something else, when Anandi comes there with her wedding joda and is excited to wear it for Suguna's gauna. Sumitra tries to send her away so that she can talk to Gehna, but Anandi keeps on talking about wearing this and that for Suguna's gauna. Suguna is passing by and tells Anandi that it looked like her gauna is never going to happen. Everyone is shocked.
