Jagya comes to Daadisa and tells her that he had done very well in the exams. He was just 5 marks behind Anandi, who had topped the exams. Daadisa is happy for Jagya and blesses him. She then angrily walks up to Anandi and yells at her for insulting her bheend. She tells her that the only education she should focus on is household work and not books. She throws Anandi's report card and goes away. Anandi runs away crying.
Jagya is very mad at Daadisa for yelling at Anandi. He asks Bhairav why he didn't speak up to Daadisa. He then tells Bhairav that he will himself go yell at Daadisa. Bhairav and Sumitra stop him and send him away to console Anandi instead. Gehna too tells Jagya to console Anandi and give her sweets for her achievement. Jagya comes to Anandi and consoles her. He manages to make her stop crying and even feeds her sweets. He then drags Anandi to call her parents and tell them the good news.
The postman comes to Anandi's parents house to tell them that Anandi had called and would call back. Bhagwati panics, but Khajan tells her to stay calm. They both come to the post office. Anandi calls again and tells them that she had given her exams and had topped it. Anandi's parents are shocked. Bhagwati worries about daadisa. Jagya then talks to Bhagvati and tells her that he had asked Anandi to study. Bhagwati tells him that married women shouldn't study. Jagya tells her that other married women don't need to study but his bheendni will study and he would take care of everything. After they hang up, Khajan feels very proud that his daughter topped the class while Bhagvati is worried about Daadisa. The postmaster who is listening is shocked that Anandi is studying.
Jagya takes Anandi to Phooli's house and they all discuss the results happily. Bhairav tries to talk to Daadisa about Anandi, but Daadisa tells him again that Anandi should not study else she would start disrespecting Jagya. Basanth too adds in that Anandi would study and show off in front of the whole village. Daadisa sends Bhairav away unconvinced.
