Highlights : Bhairav gets Khajan's land released from mortgage and takes the papers with him
Dowry starts to become the next big issue in the household
Bhairav goes to the sethji who has Khajan's land papers. He gives him some money and requests that he give him back Khajan's land papers. He also promises the sethji that he will have the remaining money sent to him. The sethji is humbled and tells Bhairav that he is a very good man and that Khajan is lucky. Govind is hesitant about what Khajan will do when he finds out that he told Bhairav about the mortgage. Bhairav tells him that he won't reveal his name and that he will take the land papers with him and return it to Khajan after the gauna.
Anandi feeds her mother. They talk about how Anandi is doing in her saasra etc. Anandi happily tells her about all the preparations for the gauna. She tells her that they had collected a lot of dowry for Suguna and that daadisa told Anandi to see all the dowry so that she can tell her parents. Anandi asks her parents why they didn't give her all this dowry during her gauna. Bhagwati is saddened to hear this and tells Anandi that they cannot equal her sasra in wealth. Khajan comes there and tells Anandi to get ready to leave. Before leaving Bhairav tells Khajan not to spend too much on Suguna's gift, but to just give some shagun. Khajan nods his head.
After Anandi leaves, Bhagwati tells Khajan that he should get the land papers back since Bhairav himself had told them not to spend too much on the gift. Khajan refuses saying Maasa would not spare them.
Maasa sits with Suguna and tells her how to behave in her saasra. Bhairav, Sumitra and Anandi return. Maasa taunts Anandi that her parents were calling her home on some lame pretexts. Bhairav tells Maasa that Bhagwati was really sick, put Maasa keeps talking sarcastically about how Bhairav, Sumitra and Anandi are not concerned about the impending Gauna and has escaped all the work. Suguna calms her down and daadisa lets everyone go.
Anandi comes to Jagya who asks her to help with his homework. Suguna comes there to talk to Anandi about her visit. Jagya asks Anandi what she got for him. Anandi says she got nothing. Suguna too tells Jagya that Anandi need not bring him something everytime she visits her parents. Jagya refuses to accept saying Daadisa had told him that bheendni had to bring something for the bheend from her sasural everytime. Also Suguna was taking so much dowry to her saasra so why can't he get the same from Anandi's house. Anandi and Suguna are speechless. Bhairav is listening to this and is upset....
