Here's your friend Mahi bringing you the Poem of the Week.

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

Do you think poems express feelings better than prose?

 

I don't think any particular style is a better representative of expressing feelings than another... whether it's a prose or a poem... it's the content within it that expresses the feelings... both ways are good

How do you interpret this poem?

 

I think it's a gr8 poem that uses a metaphor of the cocoon to represent the love/ bond between two people... 'spun gold' of the cocoon beautifully reflects the golden relationship... cocoons have that sense of being wrapped in like being wrapped in the arms of ur love in this content - so it mirrors the closeness in the relationship... (this is like analysing the poems in one of my english lessons hehe)

Does it capture the beautiful feeling of love well? 

 

Yh I think it really does... the metaphor of the cocoon is really effective
