Unbuttoning Akki lands Twinkle in jail
Mumbai, Apr 10: Twinkle Khanna, the wife of Akshay Kumar was arrested by the Vakola police and released on bail on Wednesday, Apr 8 for the apparent obscene behaviour in Lakme Fashion Week, that took place in the Santa Cruz Hotel, Mumbai.
Twinkle was accompanied by lawyer Bhairav Choudhary to the station, while a crowd gathered outside. She had to pay an amount of Rs. 950 for the bail and was let go after she spent a few hours in the station. Akshay who is out of town is expected back by the end of the week to finish these formalities.
''It was a bailable offense and we released her on a bail of Rs 950 at the police station itself. We are now waiting for Akshay,'' Arvind Mahabdi, Assistant commissioner of police (Vakola division) said.
Akhshay Kumar, the brand ambassador for Levi Jeans thought it was a good idea to let his wife, Twinkle unbutton his jeans keeping to the theme of 'Unbuttoned' brand. However, Anil Nair, a social worker lodged a complaint against them under the section 292 related to sale of obscene objects and section 293, related with sale of obscene objects to young persons.
