Highlights : Basanth fights with maasa for Gehna
Shyam saves Suguna's life
Basanth comes to Gehna and tells her that he went to meet Niranjan about resuming her music lessons. Since Maasa was against this, Basanth tells Gehna that he is ready to take her to Niranjan's house everyday without Maasa's knowledge. Gehna does not agree. She says that she doesn't want to do anything against Maasa's wishes. Hiding things from Maasa was not a good thing. Basanth remembers that Niranjan said the same thing. Basanth goes to talk to Maasa. Gehna tries to stop him, but he tells her not to worry.
Down in the living room, Basanth comes to Maasa who is sitting with Bhairav and Sumitra. He tells her that he wants to resume Gehna's music lessons. Maasa tells him that she had already agreed to resume the lessons once Niranjan's father was back. She was not ready to let Niranjan back into the haveli again. Basanth then offers to take Gehna to Niranjan's house if Maasa wants. Maasa gets mad and tells Basanth that he has gone crazy. Bhairav tries to support Basanth and is silenced by Maasa. Basanth tells Maasa that if he is ok with Niranjan teaching Gehna, why does she have a problem? Maasa rambles that the bheendni's of the house had snatched her sons away from her. Basanth tries to tell Maasa that Gehna tried to stop him, but Maasa goes on. Basanth gets real mad. He leaves angrily telling Maasa that he was stupid to have tried to talk to her.
Maasa decides to teach Gehna a lesson. She goes to Gehna and starts yelling at her saying she had instigated Basanth against her. She is about to hit Gehna when Bhairav comes there and physically drags her away. Gehna hugs Sumitra and cries.
Later at night, Basanth comes home drunk calling out to Gehna. Gehna comes down and takes him upstairs. Maasa watches this. In their room Gehna sees that Basanth has hurt his hand. She dresses the wound and asks him why he had to fight with Maasa. Basanth says that he feels helpless. He wants to always see Gehna happy, but he is unable to help her smile. He had tried to do the same for Jamna, but had failed with her too. He didn't realise that material comforts was not what a wife wants, she needs love and understanding. He apologises to Gehna for not being able to do anything for her and cries that he lost to Maasa again. Gehna looks on sort of happy.
In the morning, the kids go to school. Shyam stops Jagya and gives him some peanuts. He then offers them to Phooli, Lata and Durga. Suguna keeps staring at him, refusing to take any. Shyam covers his face with a scarf saying he is not showing his face to her. Suguna then takes the peanuts. On their way to school, a wild bull starts to run towards the villagers, everyone runs. Suguna trips and falls, hurting her knees. In the nick of time, Shyam comes there. He jumps on top of Suguna and rolls her away to safety. Suguna looks at Shyam shocked...........
Preview : Maasa gets very agigated...she yells at some villagers who have come to the haveli to get out. She tells the vaidji to stay back....
