Highlights : Shyam expresses his love to Suguna.
Shyam learns about Suguna's secret
Suguna is forbidden to eat with family.
Shyam sits with Bhairav and Basanth and discusses the irrigation project. The plan is to buy the land around the water canals (I think) so that the water can be used in Madan Singh and Maasa's lands for agriculture. Anandi comes there and calls Shyam upstairs to show him the family tree. Jagya comes there and asks Shyam to come with him to the terrace to fly kites. Maasa comes there and drives the kids away.
She suggests to her sons that they should talk to the village Sarpanch and gather all the farmers whose land they want to buy. After their discussions, she asks Shyam to go to the terrace and play with Jagya. After he goes, Basanth and Bhairav praise Shyam, saying he is very smart and would prosper in future. Maasa too can't believe that Madan Singh has such a gem of a son.
Meanwhile, Anandi goes to give Suguna some prasad and blurts out that Shyam was there. Suguna gets irritated and drives Anandi away rudely and tells her not to get too friendly with Shyam.
Shyam flies a kite with Jagya. Anandi joins them. Shyam tries to get Jagya to call Suguna, but Anandi tells him that she won't come since she was upset. Just then Suguna comes to the terrace to dry her clothes. Shyam sees her. He sends Anandi away to get water. He manages to send Jagya to buy another kite. He then talks to Suguna that he had managed to come to the haveli to see her. He asks her why she stopped going to school. Suguna looks at him angrily and turns to leave.
Shyam stops Suguna and asks her why she is so upset. He says that for some reason he likes her and cannot see her being upset or sad. He is unable to stop thinking about her. He then admits that he has fallen in love with her. Suguna is shocked to hear this. Shyam then tells her that he loves her despite knowing the fact that she is a widow. He places his hands on Suguna's shoulders. Suguna flings his arms away from her and tells Shyam that not only is she Pratap's widow, but she is also going to be Pratap's child's mother. So saying she leaves. Shyam is too shocked and doesn't know what to say. He is upset to hear this news.
At the dinner table, Gehna asks Anandi to call Suguna. Maasa stops Anandi and tells that henceforth there was no need to be so loving to Suguna and spoil her some more. She will start to eat food in her kothri. Suguna in her room regrets blurting out her secret to Shyam, fearing he will tell someone about this. She tries to write a note to him. Anandi comes there with food. She tries to lie to Suguna about getting food to her room, but Suguna tells Anandi that she knows that Maasa probably has asked her to eat in her room from now on. As Anandi turns to leave, she sees several crumpled pieces of paper. Suguna snatches them from her before she can read it and sends her away....
