Highlights : Maasa ruins Suguna's birthday celebration
Shyam asks Maasa for Suguna's hand in marriage
Sumitra supports Shyam
Maasa begins talking sarcastically about celebrating Suguna's Birthday. She keeps commenting about Suguna ruining family name etc. Anandi comes there with sweets for Suguna. Maasa throws the sweets away. Bhairav tells Maasa that there was nothing wrong in celebrating Suguna's birthday. Sumitra too supports Bhairav saying Maasa used to be the first person to wish Suguna in thepast. Maasa goes on about how Suguna does not deserve to be happy. She should not be hopeful about ever being happy. Shyam comes there and interrupts Maasa saying Suguna has every right to be happy and he will give Suguna all the happiness she deserves. All the family members are shocked to see Shyam.
Shyam walks up to Maasa and tells her that he is ready to marry Suguna. Everyone is even more shocked. Shyam continues that he is ready to marry Suguna inspite of knowing everything about her. Maasa sends Jagya and Anandi to their room. Maasa then asks Shyam what he knows. Shyam tells her that he knows Suguna is pregnant. Basanth gets mad to hear this and yells at Shyam. Gehna holds him back. Maasa panics about who else knows. Shyam tells her that no one else knows and he will keep it that way. He again offers to marry Suguna. Bhairav asks Shyam why he is so interested in marrying Suguna. Why this pity? Shyam tells everyone that he is not acting out of pity. He loves Suguna and wants to marry her.
Maasa then starts yelling that Madan Singh's son can never have good intentions. She tells Shyam to get out of the house. She then pushes Shyam away. Basanth proceeds to hit Shyam and pushes him out of the house. Bhairav controls him and asks Shyam to leave. Shyam says that he will wait for a response from the family and leaves. Basanth and Maasa start ranting about Shyam's actions, how dare he behave that way. Sumitra then asks everyone why they felt Shyam is wrong. Everyone watches in shock. Sumitra proceeds in telling the family that she feels Shyam's intentions are good and this was the best thing for Suguna. Gehna is happy to hear this.
Maasa starts yelling at Sumitra and tells her to shut up and not speak u p. Sumitra does not back down and continues to stand, emphasizing that she knows what is best for her daughter. Everyone is shocked to see Sumitra like this. Sumitra proceeds to say that she will not let anyone stand in the way of her daughter's happiness. Bhairav yells at Sumitra about what she is blabbering. Sumitra tells him that she is right and Shyam was the best thing for Suguna right now. Basanth yells at Bhairav to control Suguna. Maasa tells Bhairav to drag Sumitra inside and hit her if needed to control her. Bhairav takes Sumitra inside.
Maasa tells Basanth to do something so that Shyam will not dare to step into the haveli again. Basanth calls someone on his cell. Maasa goes to Suguna's room. Suguna looks scared. Maasa demands to know how Shyam knows about Suguna's pregnancy. Suguna stands silently. Maasa slaps Suguna and scolds her for endangering family hornor again and again. Maasa tells Suguna that she is sure she told Shyam about her pregnancy. Gehna comes there and stops Maasa and pleads her to have some trust in Suguna. Maasa says that she has no trust in Suguna and leaves angrily. Gehna consoles Suguna.
In their room Bhairav tries to reason with Sumitra. Sumitra says that she is being realistic and thinking about Suguna's future. Bhairav fears that Shyam, being Madan Singh's son may not be what he says he is. Sumitra refuses to listen saying Shyam is genuine and true. She explains how Shyam was interested in Suguna despite knowing everything about him. She is ready to fight with anyone for this. She pleads with Bhairav to accept Shyam. He had dared to stand against Maasa and ask Suguna with courage and truth in his eyes. Bhairav thinks about this.
