Maasa decides to send Shyam and Suguna away
Maasa, Bhairav and Shyam come to oversee the godown's renovation. While there, they see an old man berating his son for wanting to leave him in his old-age and go away. The son tries to explain that he wants to go to live in the city to make money. The old man disagrees saying he wants to go to the city and live in his sasural and forget about his parents. Maasa and co. are listening to all this a little embarrassed. The old man's son questions him about why this is wrong since MS's son had done the same. The old man says that the case was different with MS and Maasa. Both were rich families. No one can speak against money. Bhairav tries to interfere, but Maasa stops him saying he can't stop people from talking. Shyam looks on sad and upset.
Sunder takes Jagya to a village nearby. They end up at a hut where several teenage boys play cards. Sunder introduces Jagya to his "friends". It turns out the Sunder has been gambling away all of Jagya's money (I don't think Jagya realises this) Sunder's friend, Ballu eyes Jagya greedily, looking at his watch, gold chain etc. He asks Jagya to join them. Jagya refuses saying gambling is wrong and scolds Sunder for getting him there. Ballu and the other boys start taunting Jagya that he is too cowardly to play.
The boys continue to tease Jagya that he is a girl and a coward etc. Sunder eggs Jagya to show them what a brave boy he is. Jagya is instigated and challenges to defeat Ballu. The boys are happy. They ask Jagya to bet something, but he has no money. Ballu then asks him to bet his watch, but Jagya refuses saying its his uncle's gift. The boys tease Jagya again, but Sunder convinces Jagya to bet the watch. Ballu, along with Sunder, con Jagya and Ballu wins the game and thus Jagya's watch. Jagya demands his watch back, but Ballu asks him to win it back. Jagya refuses to play further. Sunder pretends to side Jagya and asks Ballu to return Jagya's watch. Ballu agrees to return the watch in 3 days in exchange for Rs. 300. Jagya agrees to pay the money and return and defeat Ballu. Sunder and Ballu are happy that they cheated Jagya.
At the haveli, Maasa and Bhairav sit upset in the living room. Sumitra asks them what happened. Basanth comes there and sees the two of them silent and asks what happened. Maasa tells them all that happened in the godown. Suguna, who is setting the table, hears everything. Maasa feels the problem will not be solved so quickly and that she has to do something about it. She asks the servant to fetch Shyam. Shyam comes down and asks what happened. Maasa tells him that she owns another haveli, south of the village. She asks Shyam to take Suguna with him and live in the other haveli. Shyam is shocked to hear this....
