Anandi finds out about Jagya's smoking
Shyam is shocked by Maasa's decision to send him away with Suguna. Maasa tells him that he can live in the other haveli and look after the land surrounding it. Shyam looks to Bhairav, Basanth and Sumitra for support, but no one says anything. He goes up upset. He silently and angrily packs his things in a bag. Down in the hall, Bhairav and Basanth try to reason with Maasa not to send Shyam and Suguna away. Maasa says that today some villager has started talking, tomorrow family members would start talking about their situation. She says that she wants to put a stop to all this discussions. Shyam comes down. He tells the family that he is ready to leave. He tells Maasa that he does not want to stay in the other haveli. He will go by himself to look for a job and a living. Once he is settled, he will come back and take Suguna along with him. Everyone is shocked.
Maasa tells Shyam that there was no need for him to look for a livelihood elsewhere when he can stay in the other haveli. Shyam refuses saying this wouldn't stop people from talking. He always thought he belonged to the family, but now he realises that that's not true. He takes Basanth, Bhairav and Sumitra's blessings. As he approaches Maasa, she pulls him next to her and says that he is like a son. Shyam says that if that was true, she would never think of sending him away. People would talk no matter how good you are. That doesn't mean you should stop living your life. Bhairav sides with Shyam. Maasa agrees that she is wrong and asks Shyam to stay and that she would never think of sending him away again. Suguna looks on all through this.
Jagya is still not back home. He keeps worrying about gambling and losing his watch. Sunder pacifies him and tells him to lie at home about the watch if he is asked. Jagya hesitates, but Sunder convinces him to do so. He tells Jagya that he has a way to ease his tension. He reveals cigarettes and Jagya is shocked. He says its bad to smoke and refuses to touch the cigarettes. Sunder convinces Jagya that its cool to smoke.
Back home, Anandi completes all of Jagya's homework. Gehna feels bad for her that she has no childhood and is obligated to keep her husband happy. Anandi goes to Jagya's room and starts cleaning up his desk. Jagya comes there dazed. Anandi talks to him about studies, but Jagya snaps at her and tells her to leave him alone. Anandi smells something bad and asks Jagya why his mouth stinks. Jagya panics and tries to send her away. Anandi approaches him again and is surprised about the stink. She remembers that its the same smell that she remembers from her uncle's visit back home. She figures out that the smell was from beedi's. Jagya panics that Anandi has figured it out. Anandi demands to know if he smoked, but Jagya refuses. Anandi threatens to complain to Sumitra. Jagya stops her and warns her to not say anything to Sumitra. Anandi insists that she will. Jagya pulls Anandi's arm and twists it, hurting Anandi. Anandi begins to cry and falls on the bed.

Precap : Anandi cries and tells Jagya that she will not do any of his work anymore. She turns around to see Maasa standing there. Maasa starts yelling at Anandi for rebelling...
