Highlights : Kalyani Devi's traumatized past.
In the morning Basanth asks for Maasa. Gehna tells him she must be inside. Sumitra comes there and tells Basanth that Maasa isn't at home. She has looked everywhere. Basanth calls Makhan Singh and asks if he saw Maasa leaving. Makhan Singh says she left early morning and said that she would be gone all day. Basanth wonders where Maasa went without telling anyone. Sumitra is flummoxed.
Maasa approaches a haveli with Mahavir Singh's "gift" in her hand. As she approaches the haveli, she is taken back in time....
Little Basanth plays with his father, who chases him around the haveli. Kalyani happily tells Basanth not to tire himself out. Cut to a few days later, Kalyani cries over her husband's body. The body is taken for its last rites. Mahavir Singh is a part of the mourning. He tearfully takes the arthi along with little Basanth. Later, everyone sits around Kalayani's husband's photo offering prayers. The villagers tell Mahavir Singh that now that his younger brother is dead, he is the only male left in the family.
Some woman tries to make Kalyani eat something. Mahavir Singh comes there and sends her away. He consoles Kalyani. Kalyani is uncomfortable at his touch. Although Mahavir consoles her, his words seem to mean something else. He tells Kalyani that they need to look after each other. After he leaves, Kalyani is very upset.
Cut to a few days later. Kalyani tries to put Bhairav and Basanth to bed at night. Little Bhairav doesn't seem to stop crying. Mahavir comes home drunk and knocks on Kalyani's door. He again feigns sympathy, all the while touching Kalyani inappropriately.He gives Kalyani gold bangles and says that it was his wife's. He tries to forcefully make Kalyani wear the bangles. He pulls Kalyani toward him and drags her to his room.
Mahavir tells Kalyani to give in and accept his generosity. Kalyani resists Mahavir, who tries to convince her to be his and be happy. Kalyani begs and pleads with Mahavir to leave her alone. Mahavir tells her to think of him as her husband. kalyani slaps Mahavir who tries to rape her. Kalyani escapes. The maid of the house locks Mahavir's door. Kalyani hurriedly takes her children and runs out of the haveli. Mahavir is freed by one of the servants. All servants begin to chase Kalyani. The maid stops Kalynai outside the haveli. She gives her some jewellery and tells her to run away.
As Mahavir comes there, the maid pretends to stop Kalyani and tells Kalyani to push her and run away. Kalyani escapes with her children...
Maasa is troubled after remembering her past.

Precap : Maasa throws the bangles at Mahavir and tells him that she is not related to him. Mahavir sarcastically tells her that his blood runs in her grandchildren's veins. Maasa says that all relations were broken the day she had to run away from Mahavir's haveli...
