the hero honda indian television awardsheld 07.11.05 evening at bhavans college was an inspid affair.
the evening which begun with lot of fervour soon fizzled out as most of the acts didnt generate a flutter. except for eijaz khan shaking a leg with veterans aruna irani, reena roy, muoshumi chatterjee, asha parekh and a sizzling nausheen ali (who looked gorgeous shedding oodles of weight) doing a take off on salame ishq from muqqadar ka sikandar, the other acts were lacklustre.
the much awaited kajra re was a dissappointment, while the roy brothers did fairly well shweta tiwari couldnt match up aish's foot steps. the opening act by chaitanya and surveen was a yawn. while chaitanya managed to make it tolerable surveen couldnt cope with her minies.
anchored by smriti irani, ronit roy, varun badola, rakshanda and samir soni (whose script made digs at sony for being given a raw deal in jassi), some awards raised a lots eyebrows.
it was strange that tassnim (mohini of ksbkbt) was not even nominated in negative perfomance-female, neither in popular category,nor in jury.
also siddhant won best serial-drama and fame gurukul winning reality show didnt go down well with the audience.
plus shilpa winning supporting actress (ganga-ksbkbt) and not gauri(nandini-ksbkbt) raised a hum in audience
