COLORS back to all-fiction at prime time...

18 December 2009 | 5:48pm    38 Comments
With the twin launches of Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam and Laagi Tujhse Lagan starting 28th December, COLORS gears up for a all-fiction lineup in the prime time daily band...

After their successful back-to-back non fiction shows in Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss Season 3, COLORS is launching two new fiction shows in the time slots between 9-10 PM.

While Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam, produced by Creative Eye will be the channel's first love story, Laagi Tujhse Lagan, produced by Playtime Creations is the story of a girl Nakusha from a lower caste who is forced to live her life with distorted beauty.

As Ashwini Yardi, Programming Head, COLORS puts it, "We have always wanted to produce shows that are a reflection of the society. We have also wanted to do a love story, and with Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam, we bring to the audience a love story happening between an upper caste boy and lower caste girl. So as we see in the promo, we bring to notice the manner in which the society reacts, even when a love story is not even in its budding stage".

"We have got our two good looking leads in Gaurav Khanna and Yami Gautam. Gaurav has proved good for COLORS, as he was our lead in Jeevan Saathi too. He comes with his own baggage of fan following, he is a localite too hailing from Kanpur. He is also a fresh face who will grow as our story unfolds", adds Ashwini.

On the other show Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Ashwini Yardi tells us, "This is a very unique story of a girl Nakusha who lives in a slum area in Mumbai. This again has a social message to spread and talks about the life of the people who are forced to be content with very less in life. This again will unfold into a very nice refreshing love story".

Remind her that their earlier fiction slots Jeevan Saathi and Meri Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari at the same 9-10 PM slot did not do that well for the channel, and she gives us a very optimistic reply in, "Yes, it is true that those shows did not deliver as much as we expected. But the very fact that we are launching these shows after the successful run of two reality shows at the same time slot is a positive in itself. Also we are looking forward to gaining more viewership from the younger lot who witnessed the reality shows aired at this time".

Lastly, Ashwini Yardi informed us that, "The two shows will be launching on December 28th. Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam will take the 9 PM slot while Laagi Tujhse Lagan will be at the 9.30 PM slot".

So we are back to all fiction at the prime time band on COLORS…
