This a place to post and comment on Video Interviews.
They should all be posted here. Only
These can be with the Cast or the Crew. Also PSA's and other commercials that the cast has appeared in
Once we get a videobie, we will evaluate the necessity of the thread. But Since we don't have one, this is where we will post for now.

Additionally. Please make sure you go through at least a couple of pages before posting new things. If you are posting things from a long time ago make sure it is not already posted. If you have questions please PM either Me, Rachu or Nayab. Thanks!

Monte Carlo Festival. More.

And Since It Is In French. Here is the transcript. I have no idea as to the accuracy
Credit for Transcript goes to: Chefnem

INTERVIEWER (woman): A big hit in the US, the biggest one of the CW and TVD is the TV show that all young adults watch today.
INTERVIEWER (main): So tell us about the story and the main characters. I know there are two vampires who are brothers, one evil and one good.
IAN: I'm a vampire, I was a bad guy at the beginning but it's all about perspective.
PAUL: And I'm a good guy at the beginning but here again, it depends how you see things. I evolve a little bit.

INTERVIERWER (main): (@Paul) I was told you first wanted to play Damon but didn't get the part and you were chosen to play Stefan instead.
PAUL: And it was a good thing because Ian is perfect for the role. He (Damon) loves my character, in a healthy way and our history began long ago, in fact, the cast is perfect I think.

INTERVIEWER (main): (@Nina) Who's your character?
NINA: I play Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce, a girl stuck with these two boys. (They are great guys) Elena is the nice (human) girl while Katherine is selfish, she's a bit of a jerk and she's a vampire, she's also the one who turned the two boys.
IAN: Damon learnt everything from Katherine and she made him who he is now.

INTERVIEWER (main): How come people are fascinated again by vampires in the US? How do you explain it?
PAUL: It's a great platform to tell a story with all genres in it. Also, it's been around for ages.
NINA: I completely agree, there's something very mysterious/intriguing, appealing & sexy about vampires.
IAN: They're dangerous.
NINA: Danger itself is attractive.

INTERVIEWER (main): Christelle [the woman earlier] said earlier the series was a success in the USA and we saw that there were big fans here. Are you three sex symbols in the USA? Do you have big big fans who love you there?
IAN (pointing at Paul): He is.
PAUL: Ian somerhalder is the sexy smoldering so...
NINA (@Paul): Oh you are too
PAUL: You know what? You are too.
IAN: Actually I think Nina is the woman, it's the female sex symbol and she's very talented.

INTERVIEWER (main): What do you like most in playing a vampire?
NINA: Blood.
IAN: Sucking blood.
PAUL: Higher senses
NINA: it's cool, they have the ability to look somebody in the eyes and ask you to do something and you can resist it.
IAN (@the interviewer): I would like to do it in real life because I could look at you and ask you...

INTERVIEWER (man): What would you ask her to do?
INTERVIEWER (main): You're not far from it, I can see your eyes haha. You have a tattoo on your arm, what does it says?
IAN: It's "here and now" in ancient Latin.

INTERVIEWER (main): What does it mean for you?
IAN: It's a personal thing but...

INTERVIEWER (main): It's okay. Is it easier for you to seduce women now that you are a vampire?
IAN: It's been working.

INTERVIEWER (main): Do you think the Twilight phenomenon boosted your series and helped it becoming stronger and more successful?
IAN & PAUL: Without a doubt.
PAUL: We wouldn't even be here without the regained appeal for vampires, which was mostly due to this movie.
NINA & IAN: We're very thankful because it let the vampires be in again and vampire TV shows appear and so tell stories.
PAUL: It's important for long series so they can be independent even if the success was due to the movie at first. But then, I think The Vampire Diaries is different from the Twilight movie.

INTERVIEWER (main): Are you afraid that now the series is a big show that you'll get stuck at playing TV shows even if you want to have big screen parts? or there isn't this distinction between TV & movie actors?
PAUL: Not anymore.
IAN: There isn't anymore, I mean, maybe in the 80s, 90s you couldn't be a big screen actor once you played on TV shows but now it's considered prerequisite to play in movies. Things have changed.

INTERVIEWER (main): A question about Lost finale. (@Ian) You were in this last episode and are you sad about it ending? Would you rather have it on-going?
IAN: I was not sad, actually I think it is a great story telling and I know the friends of mine who had been working on it did their best during these six years. It was very powerful and like any other good story, there are questions that haven't been answered. It was a wonderful experience.

INTERVIEWER (main): The Lost finale hasn't aired yet in France so we won't talk debate for now. What's next for Vampire Diaries? Do you think it'll last for many many seasons?
NINA: We hope so.
PAUL: We're very lucky-
IAN: It should last if we don't mess things up.

INTERVIEWER (main): The peculiarity of The Vampire Diaries is that it wasn't shot in LA.
PAUL: We shot the Pilot at Vancouver and the rest of the episodes are shot in Atlanta (GA), and it's incredible. It's just us there, we don't get to see our friends or family so we kind of become our own family together.
IAN: I think that transfers on the film that we are really really close and the only thing that we have to do is to work.

INTERVIEWER (main): Three isn't always a good number. You're giving the impression that everybody get along very well but...
PAUL: Three is company and three makes good television.

INTERVIEWER (main): The TV shows is based on best seller books. Do the writers follow the actual plot or do they change the story and write their own with elements of the books?
IAN: There is a little.
PAUL: It depends on things, on the characters. Yes, it is based on books but there have been changes.
IAN: I think the books are a good base for inspiration and it's the foundation of this thing we're trying to master but I think sticking too much on books wouldn't be a good thing, the series needs to evolve. LJS gave us great characters and we're trying to respect them as they are the things that first like the people.

INTERVIEWER (man): I just wanted to say that there's this thing with them [about the trio]. The series hasn't aired yet here but they already have great fans here though we don't know them a lot [the trio]. I think it's due to their good looks.
