Ronit's court case promises to be different
With the fiction space on television being hugely dominated by female protagonists and women-centric issues, Ronit Roy's Adaalat comes as a pleasant change.
For TV audiences who want a change from daily soaps and reality shows, there seems to be a pleasant change coming up in the form of the new series starting Saturday onwards titled Adaalat. As the title suggests, Adaalat is a courtroom drama with the Badshah of Indian television, Ronit Roy playing the protagonist lawyer K.D. Pathak. The show formatted on the lines of globally popular investigative legal dramas does not have any parallels on air presently. Adaalat will have very distinctive treatment from all the legal drama's which have gone on air till date. The one hour episodes will be extensively based on outdoors, with a lot of suspense and investigation thrown in, instead of revolving around a typical court room drama, which eventually becomes monotonous after some time.
While almost the entire fiction space on television is hugely dominated with female protagonists and women-centric issues, Adaalat has a male protagonist in the form of an unconventional lawyer K D Pathak who uses every trick in the book to deliver justice which may be as bizarre as using magical gimmicks to solve the case or as unique as finding a totally new angle to the case which nobody can figure out except K.D.
"Adaalat is a show that revolves around a lawyer KD Pathak, a name synonymous with justice. The USP of the show is the unique way KD solves every case. It's a treat to see him in court as he turns up in a new avatar every week. We have placed this show in the primetime weekend slot as we believe the show has a lot of potential and are sure that it will strike a chord with the audience of all age groups", says Ajay Bhalwankar, Programming Head, Sony Entertainment Television.
Abhimanyu Singh, Producer Contiloe Entertainment says, "Adaalat is all set to captivate and entertain the audience with its riveting screenplay and an interesting storyline which gets better with every passing week .We are sure the audience will love to see Ronit Roy for the first time in his career essaying the role of a lawyer."
Hope Ronit Roy wins the heart of audiences with as much conviction as he wins cases in this show.
