Daughter of a flower seller, she nevertheless is proud of her father since he has instilled in her a world of values even though he might not have been able to afford providing her with an education and heavy dowry. Though straight forward and soft spoken, she remains calm and patient even in the worst situations. A deep believer in Indian values and traditions, she believes that 'Sanskar' is not just worship & respect for elders but it also stems from the heart and is the glue that binds all relationships. At just 22 years of age she is world wise and mature even though she lacks an education

Suraj who is the youngest son of Harsukh and Kaveri is modern, stylish and very ambitious. Being a budding Director in the entertainment industry, Suraj is dead against marrying Laxmi since he thinks that she is beneath his status and will be embarrassed by her. His heart belongs to Ragini, a struggling starlet who is actually using him to promote her career. Suraj is a spoilt, overconfident and arrogant young man who takes his family's love and affection for granted. A rebel right from an early age, Suraj is constantly getting into brawls since he is unable to control his temper. However, if in a good mood, he can be the life of the party and hence is in great demand at such social gatherings.

Ragini is a wannabe starlet who has migrated from North India to Mumbai with a dream of making it big in the television industry. She is of the firm belief that success in the industry cannot be achieved without a godfather & it is solely for this purpose that she pretends to be in love with Suraj. She is selfish and money minded and doesn't think twice before using people or situations to her advantage in order to better her prospects. She loves leading a high society life and uses Suraj to fund all her expenses.

Parag, the second son of Harsukh and Kaveri set an example of the ideal child while he was growing up. Sweet, simple and studious, he always made his family proud! His decision to study abroad was the only disappointment that his family felt against him especially since he stayed there for over three years without even returning to pay his family a visit. Having led a very sheltered life in India, the young man underwent an amazing transformation on his trip to the U.S. where the overprotected, simpleton became a confident, dashing guy who took to western culture almost instantly.

27 year old Mahendra is the eldest son of Harsukh and Kaveri. Though autistic from birth, he is very intelligent man and has a way with words that enables him to say the right things at the right time. However, this doesn't mean that he wants to be treated any differently from anyone else. Honest, simple and lovable, Mahendra just doesn't know how to be diplomatic and how to lie. He is a good judge of people and speaks him mind, at times voicing his opinions and giving out the truth. However, having being rejected by many girls for marriage has left him with a complex & he is afraid of mixing with people since he wants to avoid being hurt.

Role:Jagmohan
Having worked from the very young age of 16, Jagmohan is a self made man who took advantage of the booming textile industry to establish his own cloth business right from the ground up. Today, though Jagmohan is a prosperous man, he continues to keep with tradition and wear starched dhoti, kurta and bandi (waistcoat) along with a rudraksh mala that is a symbol of him being a Shiv Bhakt. It was through the business itself that he met Kanchan Gauri who he later married. The couple share an excellent rapport that allows them to tease each other even at this old age. They are active members of various Gujarati social groups and regularly watch Gujarati plays at Bhaidas. Jagmohan still has in his possession a gramophone which was his wife Kanchan Gauri's first gift to him. It is on this that he listens to all his favourite music every day. As the head of the family, he is a man of routine and has a fixed timing for everything right from his meals to his evening walks. Though usually aggressive and short tempered, he is very attached to a few people in the household - His wife, his grandson Priyam and his man servant. When Laxmi joins the family later, he finds in her an extremely principled young woman who can sing the shiv stuti like him; hence he proudly bestows upon her the title of Sanskaar Laxmi!
