I thought Sachin is not confirmed yet due to a hamstring injury?

Yuvraj Singh has got to be the most inconsistent player in the Indian Cricket Team.

Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir and Praveen Kumar are all injured but none of them are suffering from any serious injuries. Going by the nature of their injury the selectors decided that they will bet fit by the time WC starts.

And about Yuvraj: He had a terrible year in 2010. Not many runs, then there was fitness issues, IPL controversy. But to dismiss him as the most inconsistent player is unfair. Apart from the last year he has performed quite consistently and is a proven match winner, it's just that we tend to remember only the performance of the last season.
Among those selected, the only batsmen who are somewhat inconsistent are Suresh Raina (very susceptible to the short ball) and Yusuf Pathan (especially since the time his weakness to the short ball got exposed). But then even they're not bad.
The only surprise inclusion according to me was Piyush Chawla. He hasn't even played ODIs for a long time.

I don't doubt that he is a good cricketer but I can only judge him on his recent form that is quite worrying, to say the least. I find that when we lose our openers quickly and need him to perform, then he often lets the team down.

I never understood why Yusuf Pathan almost always perform when he plays in the IPL for RR but when it comes to the Indian cricket team then he's a bit of a hit or miss. I think he recently made a match-winning century but other than that he too is inconsistent. I really like Suresh Raina, he's a very explosive batsman. IMO Piyush Chawla was a bad choice but let's wait and see how he performs.

Last time I checked a big issue was being made regarding Sachin's injury but i'm glad it's nothing too serious.

Well the Selectors have selected the Final 15 squad for ICC WC 2011.But the Question is that Is this the Best Line Up?

Certainly Not So & this is a debatable issue.

Well I'm not Surprised Or Shocked on the Issue of an Extra Wicket-Keeper in the Squad coz i know that there can't be any place available for an Extra wicket-Keeper when MSD is there.Plus I don't think MSD will get injured in the Rarest of Rare case coz India have to play all their Group games with a break of 9 days after each successive game.

I'm not Surprised for Rohit Sharma missing out too coz when you have big Experienced Heavy-weights like Sachin,Sehwag,MSD,Yuvi & Dangerous Batsmen in the lights of Gambhir,Virat,Raina & Yusuf who can destroy any bowling attack of the world,You Basically don't need more specialist batsmen in the team.

Well what Disturbs me is the bowling Attack with which we're going to Penetrate into world's Best Batting Line-ups & demolish them.

Now coming to the Pace Battery Dept,

Except Zaq(ZaheerK),there isn't a imminent pacer in this selected team.Well Ashish Nehra,Munaf Or Praveen Kumar are not fast pace bowlers coz these bowlers hardly bowl in 120-125 case Km/hr.So basically these are medium pacers.

Well I'm really shocked about Ashish Nehra's inclusion coz Last 10 matches, his performance is crumbling.Though he may take a odd wicket here or there but till that, the Opposition gets the best out of him & they hit him for runs.He isn't not that much effective when it comes to bowling in the death-overs.He leaks runs when it comes to bowling in Death overs which creates pressure on us.

I'm surprised for Praveen Kumar's Inclusion too coz he has been in & out of the team due to injuries.Plus we don't have such Swinging conditions at our disposal which can assist him.In that case, the opposition can take advantage out of him coz he can't generate pace & speed in his bowling.

Thus our bowling attack does'nt look lethal.

And Above All,Except Raina,Yuvi,Virat & MSD,the Fielding Standards of other players are below par & they're not agile & flexible in the outfield.

What I'm more Shocked & raising my brow is the Inclusion of Piyush Chawla in the team.I mean he has'nt played any international game for last 30 months & how can you select him in such case???

I don't understand what's the logic behind inclusion of  third specialist spinner when you have Harbhajan & Ashwin with you.Plus MSD entrusts bowl to Part-timers like Yuvi, Yusuf & Raina in every match & ensures that they complete an quota of 10-15 overs.

The need of the hour was Inclusion of SreeSanth who's performing continously well & consistently has been amongst wickets plus he is the faster bowler today in our country who can bowl deliveries at a consistent pace of 143km/hr.

And He's Also a Lively Character on the field & Every Captain would love to take him in their team as Rightly said by SA's Pacer Makhaya Ntini.

Well Likewise Ishant Sharma also need to be included with Sree. Our Bowling Attack would have looked lethal then.

Certainly this World Cup won't be interesting in the absence of Sree. We'll will definitely Miss Sree & his Agression.

Let's hope for the Best.

3 slow medium pacers we have taken, ie, nehra, munaf and praveen kumar did not do anything spectacular during the last 12 months except the last one where munaf got a MOM award...Sreesanth has to come inside instead of Munaf because I think Sreesant always better than Munaf.....and Sreesant is a wicket taker bowler, but he is not capable to save score...Hope will win initial matches with weak team...sachin will hit some more useless centuries....than again any how they will enter in 2nd round.........than it will depend on other matches results
...finally bad luck next time..😎

HELL NO!

For me, it's weird that there are so many newbies. Also ever since zaheer khan gave autralia 17 runs in the ifirst over of the 2003 world cup, I never wanted to see his face again.

I feel that as ususal we are overconfident that we won some trophies here and there. And so are the boozing cricketers of our team.

Most of it seems fine except the exclusion of Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma. Our batting is competent. IMHO our pace bowlers tend to burn out faster so we need options and variations. We don't need as many spinners as on subcontinental wickets Yuvi, Veeru, Pathan and even Sachin can extract nice liveliness from the wicket.

Some news channels says....sreesanth omitted because of dhoni...the secret is that selectors first preferred sreesanth..but in the video conference with dhoni, he insisted that he dont want sreesanth in team..actually sreesanth is not having an injury at present..its dhonis tactics to stay him away from team..ok watever.... am not gr8 supporter of sreesant...bt he is playing ok now a days I think so😊

Before this Agarkar and now Nehra.... They perform in one match and play 50 matches...On these batting tracks.. think about Nehra bowling... hmmm may god save the team !!

And why Indian team need 4 spinners ....?😕

I think When we have part time spinners like yuvraj, sehwag, pathan, raina in the team what was the need of third spinner..instead of Ashwin we could have Parthiv for a balanced team..😊
