24. DETECTION
Aaryan's head was resting on his desk…He was hitting it lightly on the desk.
Deepika had ignored it for the last fifteen minutes, but now she could no longer hold herself back. "Aaryan kya kar rahe ho?"
"Hmm? Jara sa dard ho raha hain…"
"Kis tarah ka dard ho raha hain?" she asked worriedly.
Inspite of his pain, he answered, "Don't worry, dil ka dard nahi hain…pet main jara sa…"
She ignored his feeble attempt at a joke, though it hurt her heart a lot.
"Pet main Aaryan?"
"Haan…Aisa burning sensation." He clutched the desk.
She approached him alarmed. Walking quickly towards him, she kneeled down beside Aaryan. Hesitatingly, she put a hand on his shoulder.
"Kuch weakness, ya tiredness pichle kuch dinon main lag raha tha?"
He nodded mutely. Fear and concern rising in her, she asked, "Nauseous?"
"Haan…" He said, resuming his head banging.
"Aaryan…I think you should go to the doctor."
"Kya hain Deepika? Chodo naa, it's nothing serious."
"Aur agar hua toh?"
Sensing the anxiety in her voice, he looked up at her. She was staring at him, hands folded across her chest, a concerned expression on her face.
He said with a chuckle, "Deepika, for all you know, ye indigestion bhi ho sakta hain."
She did not drop her worried look, and it raised pangs of regret and hurt in him.
"Okay, doctor ke paas jaoonga…theeke ma'm?"
She said, waving her finger at him "Aaryan tum chahe jitna utna mazaak uda lo, par please tum doctor ke paas jao."
He nodded his head like an obedient child.
Her eye twitched. "Mujhe kyun lag raha hain Aaryan ki tum meri sunoge nahi."
An amused smile appeared on his face.
"Waise bhi tum meri kahaan sunte ho Aaryan. Coffee kum piya karo. Pet main ulcers hue hoge."
"Kitni baar wahi dialogue sunaogi Deepika?"
"Aaj shaam hum dono doctor ke paas jaa rahe hain."
"Kyun, tumhari tabiyet theek nahi hain?"
Looking up, she gave him the evil eye.
The mischievous smile reappeared.
"Yes ma'm."
