What If...

Sunday, July 24, 2011 | 11:09:18 AM IST (+05:30 GMT)     What If...

Ashish Sharma speaks about the alternate profession he would have been in if not an actor...

TellyBuzz's What If gives you all an interesting read every week as it brings out that side of a celebrity that you guys have not imagined.

Well, this week also we are bringing you an actor who exploded the screens as the tough Bhaiyyaji in Gunahon Ka Devta and is all set to give his spectacular performance as Chandragupta Maurya in Imagine.

After seeing the onscreen avtars, least did we know that Ashish Sharma has a designer in him…

What If…..

"I would have been a Fashion Designer had I not become an actor….

I am graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology, and even when I took up the course I had acting in my mind.  But I had a plan to go to Delhi and do a course in National School of Drama after which I thought I would work for one year before getting into acting. But then I realized that it would take a long time and hence after graduation, I directly came to Mumbai and joined the Kher's Acting Academy.

When I chose acting after my graduation my parents did not have much of an issue because they knew that I would do crazy stuffs like this.

When I was doing Gunahon Ka Devta, there were not many inputs that I could give because the costume was already decided. But later on I used to give suggestions on colours that we could try. In Chandragupta Maurya, we are in talks about the costume, about the Designer fabrications and armours etc.

Personally I would like to dress up simple. During normal days, you can find me in a casual T-Shirt and trousers and flip-flops and during party occasions, I would like to dress up in simple shirt and denim.

If I were to design for a Bollywood celebrity I would like to design for Arjun Rampal as he has a nice physique. I would also love to design for Kangna Ranaut because I love the way she mixes up European and Indian wears.

As far as designers are concerned, I like Raghavendra Rathore, the Jodhpur Designer, Dsquared and Marc Jacobs."
