The family arranged a marriage for her, and she obediently consented because that's what she's been taught. The girl just finished her GCSE equivalent (can't recall the name) and the groom worked in Dubai and was elder by many years. After marriage he soon returned to the Middle East and left her with her parents. So she called him and asked if she could continue her education, and he obviously din't let her. But she didn't succumb to his demands and soon joined college. A few months later  he told her to visit his sisters home as he sent something for her there, and when she went he was there waiting for her. He tied her up and asked if she would continue her education but she wasn't willing to give up and so he cut her hands off.

All that just because she wanted to be educated, which was wrong in his perspective, because for him a woman was there to take care of household chores.

Fault lies with a lot of these NRIs or NRPs too.
The laws of some oversea countries also prosecute women unfairly. Women have no rights of any type.
Hopefully it is all changing.
There must be a balance.

Women are discriminated because feminism has happened, but masculinism does not exist yet. That won't happen until society stops viewing so called feminine qualities degrading.

very well put, never ever thought about this perspective.

This is unbelievable:

KABUL - An Afghan woman cut off her father-in-law's penis with a knife after he tried to have sex with her, a doctor in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province said Saturday.
"One day when the husband was away from home he attempted to have sex with his daughter-in-law and she cut off his penis with a knife," the doctor from a private hospital in Ghazni said on condition of anonymity.
The man went for treatment at the private hospital but was sent on to the capital Kabul for specialist treatment, he added. The incident took place two weeks ago but has only just come to light.
According to figures in an Oxfam report in October, 87 percent of Afghan women report having experienced physical, sexual or psychological violence or forced marriage.

We just need to remove those differences which have led to discrimination against women i.e. remove practices like sati, dowry, foeticide, forced marriages, honor killing, treatment of women as s.x object in west.

We will continue to hear such stories till all men come to terms with the reality.

Forgot to mention the practice of covering them from head to toe I see.

Almost? What her boy friend almost did should have been actually finalised by her.

I think a lot of covering up is peer pressure too.
But there are some ladies who prefer to cover up too.
I think showing too much flesh by women should be regulated unless it is a nudist colony😆

This is my opinion:

I think every women should standup to her self! then all these wont happen. Im from nepal and its like a daily issue here.

everyones comparing between male and female.

So the day they stop comaparing between the two & when women stands for themselves this whole discrimination and unfairly treated thing will end for good!
