CHAPTER – 8
After the vacation,the kids started going to school regularly.One night at the dinner table,Sonia very excitedly told Indira that their teachers are taking them for an educational tour in the Gurgaon tea estate next Saturday for two days.Indira appreciated their effort.Sonia and Seher winked at each other and Sonia,by that chance,got down from her chair,held Indira's hand and making a baby face asked,"Mamma main bhi vaha jaana chahti hu.Please kya main jaau?"Indira strongly opposed,"Nehi.Bilkul nehi.Main tumhe itni dur akeli nehi jaane dungi."Sonia again pleaded,"Please Mamma main akeli kaha ja rahi hu?Mere saath mere saare dost bhi to honge,teachers bhi honge aur phir Seher bhi to jaayegi mere saath.Please mamma please!"Indira still didn't allow.She continued requesting for some time but failed.She looked helplessly towards Rishi.Rishi talked to Indira,"Please Shrimatiji jaane dijiye na,dono saath me hi to rahenge aur phir teachers bhi to honge.Please jaane dijiye"and making a baby face said,"Aapko meri kasam."Saying so he caught Indira very romantically by her waist.Seher and Sonia started smiling looking at each other.Indira pushed Rishi back and murmered,"Kya kar rahe hai aap aise bachcho ke saamne,choriye."Indira then kneeled towards Sonia and asked very sweetly,"Jaane ka bohot man kar raha hai?"Sonia nodded her head and said yes.After a second,Indira said,"Ok."Hearing this Sonia shouted very loudly and hugged Indira and thanked her.Indira warned them to stay always together and not to do anything naughty.After dinner,Indira went to Sonia's room.She made her sit on her lap and said,"Meri angel ko ek roz bhi na dekhu to mujhe chain nehi aata,meri gudiya ka chehra dekhe bina to mujhe neend bhi nehi aati"and made a baby face,"Aur yaha to pure dooo din hai.Main kaise rahungi?"Sonia said,"Main do din baad hi to wapas aa jaaungi mamma."Indira kissed her and then played with her for some time and made her sleep on her lap.While patting her,she said to herself,"Tu mera khilona hai beta jise main kisike saath nehi baat sakti"and then looked at her sleeping face,"Tujhe ek pal ke liye bhi apne se dur rakhne ke khayal se hi mujhe dar lagta hai."She then made her sleep properly on her bed,kissed her and left.
On the day of their tour,Seher suddenly fall ill and her trip was cancelled.Indira thought of not sending Sonia to the tour.At that moment,Sonia's two friends and a teacher came to take Sonia and Seher.Indira informed them of Seher's illness and apologized as she'll not be able to send Sonia.Sonia was too sad.The teacher assured Indira and said,"Aap bilkul bhi fikar mat kijiye Mrs Diwan hum teachers hai na uska pura khayal rakhne ke liye."She still was not able to agree then Rishi convinced her to let Sonia go.After many hardships she agreed.Indira kissed Sonia and requested the teachers to take care of her as its the first time she has been send alone somewhere.Sonia bid goodbye and left.
All the students made fun during their journey and after almost 1 hour,they reached the spot.After taking rest for some time,the teachers guided them to the tea – estate and explained them how everything is performed there.After 1st day round they all returned where tents are being put to pass the night.On the 2nd day,they went to the tea gardens and were shown about different qualities of tea plants and elaborately explained about them.
After,2 days,at a certain spot near the tea – estate 2-3 big cars stopped and from one,Sameer Diwan stepped outside.One of his managers came towards him and showed him a plot,"Sir yehi vo jagah hai jaha hume colony,with proper facility,banana ke liye government ki taraf se contract mila hai especially for tea – estate employees."Sameer,with his goggles on,took a look around the area and after returning,ordered to begin working as soon as possible.
Now,as the trip ended,all the students and the staffs prepared for departure.They headed towards the bus.Sonia remained last in their row.Suddenly,she remembered,she left her teddy on the spot of their rest.By mistake,without informing anyone,she left others and went to find the teddy.But after entering a little inside,she didn't find that particular area. She got a little bit afraid and ran back to the way from which she came and to her bad luck she found the bus left without her.
She fearfully looked around her and as these areas are a bit forest based,she started sweating out of fear.At that moment,she remembered about her parents,especially Indira.The fear was gradually replaced by extreme terror.She sat down and started crying.After some time,she got up and started walking aimlessly.After walking for a long time,she felt very hungry.She felt very tired and fell down.While she was resting,suddenly,she saw 2-3 big cars standing at a bit distance.She felt a ray of hope and with all strength inside her,she ran towards the cars.As she reached the cars,she found no one there.She started roaming there.Suddenly,from somewhere,one of the drivers came and asked her,"Kaun ho tum aur yaha kya kar rahi ho?"She narrated him how she was lost.The driver took her to the car's owner.It turned out to be Sameer Diwan.As soon as she saw Sameer,without thinking anything,she ran towards him and hugged him tightly by his waist and started crying loudly.Sameer's manager was about to move her away but Sameer signalled him he's okay.He released himself from her grip and kneeled down and asked very sweetly,"Kya hua ro kyu rahi ho?Aur yaha akele kya kar rahi ho?"Wiping her tears,very slowly she narrated,how she got lost.After completing,she again hugged him tightly by his neck and started crying again and anyhow said,"Mujhe mamma ke paas jaana hai,mujhe mamma ke paas le chalo please."Sameer suddenly felt the urge of hugging her back and slowly he did so,he hugged her tightly and felt an unknown kind of happiness inside him.He patted her back to make her feel better and she too,slowly stopped crying.He promised her to drop home and ordered others to stop the work and return.While on their way back to Delhi,Sonia didn't utter a single word and was continuously sobbing.Sameer,while looking at her,for a second,felt of taking her in his lap and console her and then confusingly thought why he was thinking like that and why he felt so good while hugging her back.At the next moment,he washed his thought and mockingly asked her,"Abhi jo mere saamne bethi hai kya vo vahi ladki hai jisne mere car ki tyre puncture ki thi aur 1 baalti paani urelke mujhe bhigaya tha?"Sonia gave a guilty look at him but did not say anything.Sameer then asked,"Bhukh lagi hai?"She nodded her head and said yes.He asked the driver to stop by a good hotel.They entered Delhi and outside a big hotel,the car stopped and they entered inside.He called a waiter and turning to Sonia,he asked,"Kya khaogi?"She slowly with a very low voice replied,"Aloo ke paraathe aur thandi dahi."Sameer looked at her with a jerk and remained spellbound as this is his favourate food too.He asked with a shock,"Tumhe ye pasand hai?Ye to mujhe bhi bohot pasand hai."She smiled fadely.After a moment,he asked,"Well abhi tak tumne mujhe apna naam nehi bataya?I think abhi main tumhare liye ajnabi nehi hu."Sonia looked at him and asked to lean towards her and when he did so,she whispered in his ears,"Sonia.Par aap na kisiko batana nehi kyuki mamma ne anjaan logo ko naam bolne se mana kiya hai aur yaha pe aapko chorke sabhi anjaan hai."He agreed.The waiter came and served the food.Sonia ate it as if she was hungry for years and drank the water almost at a single gulp.Surprising his employees,Sameer himself paid the bill and both headed towards Chandni Chowk.
At SN,all were tensed due to Sonia's missing.Indira was sitting crying,putting her head on Rishi's chest.Rishi,who too was tensed was trying to console her.Suddenly,she heard a shout,"Mamma"and found Sonia coming running towards her.Indira immediately got up from her seat and took Sonia in her arms and hugged her tightly.She kissed her and asked,"Beta tu thik to hai na?Kuch hua to nehi hai na tujhe?"Sonia smilingly replied,"Nehi mamma main bilkul thik hu,mujhe kuch nehi hua hai."Indira surprisingly asked,"Par tu yaha pe aayi kaise?"Sonia pointing towards the door said,"Vo laaye mujhe."Everyone looked towards the door and at the next moment with a devil smile on lips,Sameer Diwan entered.All were shocked to see him with Sonia.Indira raged with anger and slapped him and asked,"Tumhari himmat kaise hui meri bachchi ko haath lagaane ki?"Sameer glared at her and made a fist.Seeing this Indira was about to slap again,at that moment,Sonia interfered,"Yeh aap kya kar rahi ho mamma?Yehi to khud ghar wapas leke aaye hai mujhe.Agar yeh nehi hote to main bhi yaha nehi hoti"and narrated how she got lost,how she found Sameer and how they got back.Indira surprisingly looked at him and her anger cooled down a bit.Without spending any more word,she held Sonia's hand and moved towards her room.But before going upstairs,Sonia stopped,leaved Indira's hand and ran towards Sameer,who was about to go.She stopped him,"Excuse me!"Sameer stopped at her voice.Sonia asked him,"Zaraa niche jhukna."He confusingly bend towards her,and shocking all,including Sameer,she kissed on his cheek where Indira slapped and cared it lovingly.Sonia said,"Aapne jo meri help ki uske liye bara wala thank you aur mamma ke taraf se sorry."Saying this she left with Indira towards her room and Sameer,too,left by rubbing his cheek which unknowingly brought a smile on his face.
