More than a year has passed since the second we witnessed our Indian team raise the world cup after a stretched wait of 28 years. Everyone was at his best but one man stood out of the mass. There were question marks on his selection but he transformed those into huge applauses, positive reception, love and craze.
Yuvraj was at the crest of his career after the grand world winning but couldn't carry on due to his illness. Later it was revealed he's diagnosed with cancerous tumor (Stage 1) in his left lung. The world prayed for his healing and he got the support of a cyclist Lance Armstrong who too was diagnosed with cancer and made a grand comeback. Chemotherapy was needed to cure his disease and for that motive he went to Boston, USA. After three cycles of chemotherapy, he was discharged on 18th March 2012 and returned to India the next month.
During the world cup, he used to cough and vomit a lot but he ignored it all just to play for his country. After treatment when he returned, a huge crowd was there to welcome their hero. He was too feeble and the side effects of chemotherapy were truly noticeable. Survival was the greatest accomplishment for him but he had a lot in his mind. He fought with the unsympathetic situations and finally his hard work paid off. He was selected in the probable 30 for T-20 world cup 2012. Now he's a part of the final 15 squad.
Yuvraj has his own, "YouWeCan foundation" now to spread cancer awareness. He believes cancer patients need emotional support and not sympathy.
He fought and finally won the battle!
His return will be the moment of the match. No matter how many runs he scores, his single glimpse is the thing for which people will rush to the stadium and rest won't be able to look away from the television even for a single second.
He's coming back on September 8, 7:00 PM.
Countdown begins now………
1….2…..3…..4……
Are you with him?
