1Zee TV's popular reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is back with an all new format, new contestants and mentors to guide them too. The journey will soon begin, since there remain only a few more days for the popular music reality show to go on air.
This time the musical melodies will be mentored by ace music director and singer, Shankar Mahadev, the magical musical duo Sajid Ali-Wajid Ali and the master of Indian Ocean band, Rahul Ram. Interestingly, the show will try to give a realistic feel to the audience as well as the contestants by not keeping the musicians backstage but putting them along with the singers on the stage.
Throwing more light on the new concept of the show, Shankar Mahadev said, "Times are changing and so are the people. There is always a need to bring in some innovations by bringing in some idea. Otherwise people will lose interest amidst the crowd of all the shows. There are contestants coming from across the world from cities like New Jersey, Atlanta, amongst other places. People look for good talent. Belonging to a poor family and crying doesn't work to win heart of the audiences. At the end of the day, it's the talent of the contestants that works."

Composers Sajid-Wajid's love Delhi's street food so much that during their recent visit for the auditions of music reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012", they decided to set up a tandoor counter at the venue itself.
Since their hectic shooting schedule did not allow them to tour the streets of old Delhi and gorge on delicacies at their favorite joints, the duo decided to bring down the tandoor counter to the backyard of the studio auditorium, and organised a feast for co-judges Shankar Mahadevan and Rahul Ram, as well as the show's crew.
"It's a sin to come to Delhi and not sample its famous Mughlai delicacies. We know some bawarchis (cooks) in Delhi, specialising in Mughlai cuisine. You can never sample such food in any five-star restaurant, but can only be had either on the streets of old Delhi or can be cooked by authentic bawarchis," Sajid said in a statement.
The production team was more than happy to cater to their food demands.
"Looking at Sajid and Wajid bhai's love for Mughlai food, we could not turn down their request of setting up a tandoor counter in the studio premises. And after tasting the food, we realised it was worth every penny. The food was truly divine and every crew member savoured the delicacies," said a production team member.
The show goes on air Saturday on Zee TV.
Sajid Ali of music composer duo Sajid-Wajid was so moved by the singing of a visually-challenged singer during the auditions of music reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012" that he presented his expensive watch as a gift to him.
Rijul Bakshi from Dehradun came to audition for "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012" and impressed one and all as he sang "Aas paas hai khuda" and left everyone in surprise with his voice and performance.
Sajid was so impressed with his performance that he gifted his watch to Rijul.
