2. the Truth
"What the f*k is this Arnav?" NK asked furiously, shaking the papers in Arnav's
face.
Puzzled, Arnav took the papers from
NK, and scanned them quickly, and by the time he finished, his eyes had widened
in disbelief. "But NK, I-"
"Nannav..." NK
sighed. "Don't tell me these ar fake...?"v
Arnav was perplexed. "No, NK you don't
understand. I never slept with Sheetal."
NK
crossed his arms. "Then explain those reports...!"
"I-I don't know NK, but how did these even get
here?! Khushi had torn the reports that day right in front of my eyes!"
"Wait, what? You knew KHUSHIJI got the report
done? But I saw Sheetal handing over these reports to HP?" NK thought aloud.
"WHAT! Sheetal did that?"
NK nodded. By now, both NK and Arnav figure
something was wrong.
Suddenly, NK asked,
"Nannav, but Khushiji?"
Arnav grit his
teeth. "I need to know the truth!"
He stormed to Sheetal's room. Sheetal looked
up. "Oh, Arnav?"
NK followed. Arnav looked
hard at Sheetal. "Ms Sheetal Kapoor. I will ask you only once. Is Aarav my
son?"
Sheetal was shocked. She gave one nod,
confirming it.
"Impossible." Arnav said
confidently.
"It was on the senior prom
night Arnav." Sheetal said calmly.
Arnav was
unfazed. He smirked. "Really? Might I know how come I don't remember?"
"You were drunk." Sheetal replied.
NK gasped. He looked at Arnav. "But Nannav-"
"No, no. NK let her continue...This is
interesting..." Arnav said smugly.
Sheetal
looked at NK, annoyed. She turned back to Arnav. "Well, you got drunk and what
happened next, gave me Aarav."
"Hm. Well,
looks like he is my son afterall." Arnav said.
Sheetal nodded happily.
"And that also means that he needs money."
Sheetal nodded again.
"Alright. I need to documents as evidence that
you are related to him so I can transfer the money."
Sheetal smiled, and happily pulled out a file
from her bag and handed it to Arnav.
Arnav
took the file and scanned its contents and frowned. "Sheetal, something's
wrong!"
"What, how?" Sheetal said asked
anxieously.
"Well, it proves you ar his
guardian, but...not mother!" Arnav said, carfully observing her reaction.
"What?!" she said. "How is that possible? I
SPECIFICALLY told the people from the orphanage to-"
She stopped suddenly, realising what she had
said, and looked up just in time to see Arnav's eyes hardening. He grabbed her
wrist and dragged her harshly to his and Khushi's room, where Khushi was still
passed out.
NK rushed ahead and sprinkled
some water on Khushi's face. She stirred.
Arnav pulled Sheetal in front. She was now
standing between him and Khushi's stirring form. "Tell her the truth" Arnav
growled.
Sheetal stuttered. "Kh-Khushi...
Wo...I"
"Tell her dammit!" Arnav roared.
Hearing his angry voice, Khushi became alert.
She gauged in the situation, confused. She suddenly remembered the reports.
Fresh tears streamed dow her face. arnav looked at her, and softened instantly.
"Khushi, Khushi please don't cry..." he plead, engulfing her in his arms.
She cried harder. "Arnavji, wo...Aarav
i-is-"
"NOT my son..." Arnav finished.
Khushi looked at him. "But the reports-"
"Sheetalji. EXPLAIN." NK said threateningly.
Sheetal gulped and told them how she had
adopted Aarav, trained him up and then got the reports switched when she found
out that Khushi had tried for a DNA test. There was silence, followed by a
resounding slap. "Get out!" Khushi growled. "You shameless witch, you call
yourself a woman? You used a child and tried to wreck lives of another married
woman!?"
Arnav watched his tigeress in awe
as NK made a mental not to NEVER annoy Khushiji.
FEW
HOURS LATER
Arnav and Khushi were lying in each others
arms, comfortably. Arnav felt his shirt get wet. "Khushi?" he asked, realizing
she was crying.
Khushi looked at him, teary
eyed. "I am sorry I ever doubted you Arnavji!" she said softly.
He kissed her forehead. "it is okay Khushi.
People make mistakes. I did the same to you remember?" he said.
Khushi, in reply to her husband's comforting
words, kissed him softly on the lips. "Well, atleast Aarav got a home and a
mother..." she sighed.
"Yes. Now Di will
also be able to cope up with her loss." Arnav said.
"Di would make a wonderful mother..." Khushi
smiled.
Arnav nodded. "Khushi, I want to be
a Daddy." he said suddenly.
Khushi blushed.
"I want to be a mother too..."
"What are
you waiting for?" Arnav aked mishievously, switching off the lights.
I know it is sortof abrupt & lame, but...Well, did not get a good enough response to this... But since I did not wanna leave it incomplete, I wrote this much!
