As an American, I am embarrassed and upset about the gun violence in our country. With shootouts being so common and frequent, something has to be done. On a personal level, I am against guns. I most likely will never own one or allow anyone to have one in my house. However, I don't think banning weapons is the right option. Our constitution gives us the right to bear arms. It is in our bill of rights and we cannot strip citizens of something so fundamental. We have to remember guns don't kill people, people do. Knives, rocks, cars, anything can be used to kill people should a person so desires. Nations like Canada and Switzerland have far lax gun control laws but witness less crime. In fact Switzerland has the highest guns per capita in the world with many people having cabinets full of guns, but some of the lowest crime rates. The problem more than gun control is society and culture in the United States. We definitely do have a long way to go in learning responsibility and compassion.
Why do you always make such sweeping hateful statements about a country though? A few days ago you said similar things about Australia as well. It is racist to make hateful statements about an entire population like that. You need to recognize that every nation has good and bad qualities.
