NEW DELHI: A six-year-old
girl from Gurgaon was abducted, raped and brutalized on Sunday in
reviving Kapashera, southwest Delhi.
The girl is admitted in Safdarjung Hospital with severe injuries to her private parts and lower intestinal region, and has undergone a few surgeries.
The girl was found on the roadside near Kapashera border around 10pm,
said a police officer. A motorist found her lying in a pool of blood and
crying. He informed the police, who rushed her to the hospital.
She was critical when she was brought in, said Dr B D Athani, the
medical superintendent of the hospital. "Her intestines have been
partially damaged, while her genitals had major injuries that required
emergency reparative surgery," Athani said.
As her medical examination confirmed rape, a case was registered under IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. A joint probe by Delhi and Gurgaon police began, but there were no leads initially.
Fortunately, someone from the girl's family identified her. Cops then got to know that she had gone missing
while playing outside her house around 7pm on Sunday. The family had
looked around for her without any luck. They had then approached local
police around 8pm and registered a missing complaint.
The probe
so far has revealed that the girl was last seen with a man in his early
twenties who was taking her towards Dhundahera village near Gurgaon.
The cops are now trying to trace the person on the basis of his description given by the witness.
Police have been unable to record the girl's statement so far and are
planning to seek an NGO's help to find out more about the case.
A source, though, said that going by the circumstantial evidence, it
appears that the accused maybe someone the girl knew. He has also cited
the possibility of more than one person raping her.
The probe
team is being led by SHO Mukesh Wali, while additional commissioner of
police A K Ojha is in overall charge of the case.

COIMBATORE: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by her
maternal uncle, his three friends, including a 72-year-old retired male
nurse, and a teenager over the last 10 months in Coimbatore.
The schoolgirl's torture began in April last year, but she kept mum as
her tormentors threatened to kill her if she talked about it anyone.
However, unable to bear the mental and physical torture, she approached
the police on Friday. All the five, including the 17-year-old youth who
was in love with the girl, have been arrested.
The accused are the girl's uncle and realtor G Gopalakrishnan, 59; R
Karuppasamy, 59, also a realtor; S Karuppasamy, 45, who owns a mike and
sound system shop; T Balu alias Balasundaram, 72, who retired as a male
nursing assistant from the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital; and the
17-year-old youth, a wall painter.
Citing the girl's complaint, police said when she fell ill on April 29,
2012, Gopalakrishnan took her to Balasundaram for treatment. The
retired male nursing assistant gave her some sedatives, and both
allegedly raped her at Balasundaram's house.
The girl was then taken to a farmhouse belonging to R Karuppasamy at
Pollachi in July. There again, she was raped by her uncle and the
realtor, the girl said in her complaint. The duo threatened to kill her
if she spoke about it to anyone. Gopalakrishnan next took her to the
house of another relative, S Karuppasamy, in Madukkarai, where again she
was raped.
Meanwhile, the girl fell in love with the 17-year-old boy who lived in
the neighbourhood. The girl mustered courage to approach police when the
other four accused put pressure on her to sever her relationship with
him. Police said the girl told them that she was in love with the boy,
and they have had consensual sex. The boy too was arrested on charges of
rape because the girl is a minor, they said.
Police have booked all five under Sections 376 (g) (minor girl gang
rape) and 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and
under Sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual
Offence Act 2012
