YAY! I'm actually here! π
Zee TV Valentine's Day Special: Dil Dhamaal Aur Dhoka - February 9th, 2013
A Lifetime of Love
- Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Nata Koi: Divyam and Shruti! Totally wasn't expecting them to be paired up and performing, but they are so cute! I had no idea that this was going to show one love story using multiple jodis...I really like how the outfit colors and style were kept constant as the two children "grew up."
- Aww, and I love how they show little glimpses of Gurmeet at the beginning, as if Yash is proudly watching Ansh perform!
- Khuda Jaane and Tere Bina: The "young love" and "married couple" phases are quite sweet. I like the songs more than the choreography, though.
Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji: Chetanji and Zahidaji//Suraj Pratap and Gayatri
- These two were the sweetest out of all of the jodis in this act, in my humble opinion! And yes, they deserve more than one bullet point from me, so here I go!
- Chetanji and the violin! LOL, the expression on Zahidaji's face is too cute. Actually, you know what? Both of them were sooo cute the entire time they were performing together...Every time they smile, I end up beaming along with them! π I think they had a lot of fun doing this little dance together, if the countless smiles on their faces are anything to go by!
- Some other parts that I absolutely love: When he pretends that his back hurts, and she tries to tell him, "That's enough, I'm not going to dance anymore," he pulls her back and keeps dancing with her; the part with the shawl and the ending with the violin - hayye, such style these two have! Chetanji's shawl-wrapping technique and the way Zahidaji sits and watches him at the end...Awww! We are so lucky to have them in PV!
- The entrance of the Mysterious Host: I'd never seen Iqbal act before this, and he is quite good, I must say! Love Rannvijay Singhania's intro music. Very cool!
- Zoya's "Itni dumb nahi hoon main!" cracks me up. I think it's hilarious how she feels that it's necessary to point that out to someone. π Haan, and I still think that her "Mr. Punch" line from the MS episode is really funny - Yash-Aarti's expressions in response to that line were great!
Yash and Aarti's Nok-Jhok: "You're late..."
- After one guest from Bhopal arrives, we see what the others are up to. I think those platform shoes are the same ones that Aarti had to wear when she ended up having trouble walking...They look similar, at least!
- Aartiji's Yashji arrives in the nick of time to break his wife's fall, in true hero style - hah, Gurmeet's expression! "I've got you!"
- There's a split second where Gurmeet looks at Kratika and quirks his mouth a little in amusement. Open to interpretation, that. It could be along the lines of "Wow, and instead of Ansh, you're the one who was going to fall...If I hadn't gotten here in time..."
- "I'm here, na? As long as I'm around, how can you fall?" Oye hoye! More than Gurmeet's line, I love the silent play of expressions here. Kratika's sarcastic smile and Gurmeet's barely visible smile in response...Haha, Aarti is not happy.
KS/A: You came so late?
GC/Y: Oh no...I'm dead...Uhhh, actually, I -
KS/A: Enough, Yashji! Don't make excuses!
GC/Y: Crap.
KS/A: Men... *gives GC a quick once-over* ...and their excuses.
GC/Y: *open-mouthed* [I love the way she looks at him here, all annoyed! And he's just like, "Aaah...Wait, what...? Aartiji...?" Gurmeet's facial expression is the BEST.]
*KS/A walks away angrily, GC/Y is left calling after her in vain*
- And of course Sumit Vats/Rishi shows up, ready to lend a listening ear...Hilarious how he steps into the frame with his eyes on Kratika/Aarti who is probably walking away with that adorable pout on her face still, haha. Man, I wish his character was still like the old, happy, perceptive Rishi that I can see a jhalak of here...Anyway, LOL at Yash's quick little nod in response to Rishi's question.
SV/R: I'll listen to you...Your wife's angry?
GC/Y: *nods* *Rishi makes an "I know how that feels...Tough. But still..." face*
GC/Y: Shit. I'm so dead.
SV/R: So then go and pacify her...Because if your wife is angry at you, then life will be angry and miserable... [Ehh, this sounds so much better in Hindi. There are some things that don't translate very well...]
- "Aartji!" - Awww. Love the way he calls out to her! Reminds me of the ZRA promos! π³
Lonely...
- No comments about the actual song. Not a fan of Himesh Reshammiya's singing...Hamsika Iyer's voice is the only saving grace of whatever I've heard based on the portion used in this act.
- Love the way this act begins! The lighting is gorgeous, and the gold and silver of Kratika's outfit sparkle a little bit, too...I also like the contrast between her clothing and what the other dancers are wearing (Aarti stands out from everyone else at the entire party, along with Sona and Zoya, I guess, which is quite nice) since almost her entire body is covered, but the sheer blue fabric still makes her look stunningly attractive. Quite sexy, IMO...
- The dance moves...Love Kratika's angry, irritated, intense expression as Aarti begins dancing! The bit right before the motorcycle noise interrupts is great - Aarti's seductive pose goes for a toss π and Kratika's facial expressions make me laugh every single time! The way she just stops and looks around, wide-eyed and confused, LOL. First the "Huh? What...? What is that? Where is that noise coming from?" and then the "Whatever, let's continue..." π
- "O banwariya..." - And she slows down...π Looks around...And lo. It's Yash. Way to spoil the dance, Yash! π π But whoa, he's so cool! Jumps over the railings and everything! π² π Everyone else is so entertained! I think it's so cute how they keep showing Gurmeet-Kratika-Surbhi interactions in various ways throughout the episode...They show Zoya more during Yash-Aarti's portions than during any other ones, I think.
- Ahaha, Gurmeet gets right up in Kratika's face for the second "O banwariya!" and she's like, "Too close! Too close! Too loud!" π And then..."What the heck is he doing? Everyone else is dancing, too? Why?" He comes over and takes his nakhrewaali's hands oh so smoothly and walks her to the center of the floor - she's clueless for a while, and then "No, no, no! I don't want to dance!"
- Stunts and dancing mixed into one! So cool. The tumbles and moves Gurmeet does are great! π Yash just keeps trying to get Aarti to dance and she just doesn't budge...so he starts showing off, and she seems sort of weirded out. "Not impressed, Yashji..." But I think she's done being a distant nakhrewaali...Now she's going to be the seductive nakhrewaali...Role reversal!
- Gurmeet's "I'm so cool...Try whatever you want, I'm not going to melt..." attitude is so amusing. Kratika actually does a little wink when she steps in front of him, which I think is cute. Her moves are so fluid, and that in itself classifies as "sexy" to me...I especially love the "koi na koi connection hai" line where she walks her hands up his body and he just shrugs her off with a wave of his hand...The dejected look on her face! π So pretty, though! Aww, aww, aww!
- "Teri yaad saath hai..." - Okay, super adorable moment! The way Gurmeet looks up, and then Kratika turns...You can actually see Aarti's eyes widen in surprise just before she turns around. There's a silent message in his eyes, and the eye contact between them lights up her entire face! Her smile is SO sweet. I love that they don't break eye contact until they absolutely have to in order to wink at the camera.
- The chorus when they're dancing together: so much fun! Gurmeet is so comfortable dancing now, and it's a joy to watch him putting so much happiness and energy into his movements, while Kratika is being characteristically lissome/lithe with her own movements next to him.
- "Main kitna tanha tanha lonely lonely tere bin..." - OMG, this is a complete Gurmeet-Kratika moment! He takes her hand very deliberately while she's partially in motion...Then he looks at the camera and makes the most hilarious face ever π€£ and Kratika is just beaming up at him, laughing a little bit as they walk backwards to end the song. I think Yash was probably trying to tell us, "I got my Aartiji back...Not going to be lonely anymore...I'm the luckiest man alive." Tax time for Yash? π€£
Do You Know
- The more I watch this part of the performance, the more I feel that this song is actually really cute. Shaan and Shreya singing a fun song + Gurmeet and Kratika together = overload of adorableness!
- Aarti checks her watch...He's late. - This reminded me of those early flashbacks in the show, where Aarti was waiting for Prashant and he showed up late...Meh. Anyway, this is great. Kratika's irritated face is way too cute for me to not comment on it every time it comes up. Oh, but Yash's antics are even funnier in this song! LMAO at the way Gurmeet pops up behind that mask and looks up at it! His face when he sees what it is π€£ What did Yash think it was? Aarti?! π€£ π€£ LMAO, and he bolts over to where she is standing...
- LOVE the way this song was choreographed! The timing of everything and the nok-jhok is perfect!
GC/Y: *takes her hand sweetly* Hume tumse mohabbat hui hai... ("I love you...")
KS/A: *jerks her hands away and turns*
GC/Y: Shit. She's really, really mad. Looks like I have to pacify her again... [Love the apprehensive expression and the little thing he does to his hair here! π³ So sweet, Gurmeet!]
- Hah, he does multiple, "Please forgive me! I'm sorry!!!" gestures and his darling nakhrewaali isn't buying any of it. Yash is increasingly desperate, and this is maha-cute! She swats his hand away and then doesn't let him hug her properly...And there's that dance move that I was so excited to see! Except this is a thousand times better! Why? Kratika is taller than the choreographer, so she can't duck like the other girl did...And so their faces end up close to each other...She could've landed a kiss on his cheek if she had been happier, haha. But nope, she is mad, so those glares that she sends him as they do that sort of shimmy backwards are all that Yash gets...Ahaan, I think I see Kratika trying to keep her smile under control here! π³ Trying...Just barely manages not to break into a smile because of Gurmeet! When he lifts her up, she's nearly parallel to the ground, flat in his arms! π² Gosh, such trust! Wow!
- "Iss dil se shararat hui hai...O jaaneman, do you know?" - LOL, his swinging her back and forth, then taking her hand and swinging it back and forth...I love that the "O jaaneman..." part seems to break Aarti's resolve and she lets go of her inhibitions completely because of that one gesture of his...Kratika's facial expression is this fabulous mix of innocent and seductive - again, and it comes up a lot more - and it's very, very cute! Gurmeet toh is having the time of his life, swaying to the music with his hands on Kratika's hips...I love the playfulness of all their movements in this song!
- "Meri nafrat bhi chaahat hui hai...O jaaneman, do you know?" ("My hatred has also become love...O my darling, do you know?") - Gaaah! Cuteness overload! π What can I say? This entire song is just way too adorable! Aarti does her bit to tease Yash (Kratika's smile, Gurmeet's, "Yeah, yeah...I know..." face! Hayye.) but he doesn't let go of her hand, which makes her come spinning into his arms again...
- The final chorus has that super sweet bit where they both nod to indicate, "Yes, I know that you love me...And yes, I love you..." along with that cool, flowing move that ends in that hug eventually. The bit in between always makes me think of air guitars, LOL. But just look at them having so much fun dancing! π The happiness is infectious!
Rani Tu Mein Raja
- I disliked this song when I heard it in PV's New Year party episode...But now after hearing it so much and seeing this dance performance, I have warmed up to it a lot more. The choreography for this particular act is really good! Lots of energy, lots of enthusiasm, lots of smiles!
- Bahaha, Yash instantly goes to beat up the one guy who dared to look at Aarti! π€£ So possessive, yaar! "She's MY Aartiji. My wife." I actually laughed out loud when I noticed what Gurmeet was doing during that part.
- When Yash starts dancing, Aarti's all like, "Whoa! π" Gurmeet just looks more and more happy as the performance progresses - it's like the more he relaxed he becomes, the more enthusiastic and crazy he gets! π He and Kratika are both having an absolute blast dancing by this time...Maneuvering around each other, looking at each other, feeding off of each other's energy and staying in sync with each other while going crazy at the same time...
- Every time Kratika has a "Rani main tu Raja" part, Gurmeet points at her and lip-syncs along, which I think is so funny! Why he would do that, I don't know, but like I said, it seems like he let loose and had a lot of fun with it! Not objecting to that at all! Makes it even more entertaining, since he points out who the Rani is, in addition to doing a sort of "Raja" gesture. π ππΌ
- When Aarti is left alone to take center stage, Kratika looks around and sees that everyone else has scooted back - and here is Mrs. Seetibaaz! The whistle-and-wink is so sweet!
- The moves for the next stanza are all really fun. I like the "bin varmala" bit because of their expressions, as well as the chaabi-taala part. Kratika makes this adorable face and snuggles up against Gurmeet's neck really briefly a little bit later...
- The ending is fabulous! Gurmeet's Yash is back to being all cool, with tons of attitude, while Kratika's Aarti is dancing away even when she's being lifted up into the air! Kratika's bhangra with the varmala as her toli (gang/group of people) takes her in a circle π€£ Ahaha, I love the way she reaches out to try and put the varmala around Gurmeet's neck (still dancing!) and then she's SO happy when she gets it around his neck!
KS/A: There! *radiant smile, places hands daintily in her lap* [Me: π€£]
GC/Y: *still singing* Rajaaa... *places varmala around his own neck, stops mid-gesture*
KS/A: *shocked face* Haawww, what are you doinggg?!
GC/Y: Ohhh! *quickly takes the varmala and tries putting it around Kratika's head, only for it to get stuck on her head before he gets it on properly* [He looks so relieved, LMAO!]
- And the adorable crazies end up holding hands for a while, going balle balle together before letting go and finishing with a flourish for the audience! [Me: These two...They're going to be even more pagal the next time we see them! π€£ π€£ π€£]
