Just watched all of last weeks episodes, and Friday's was a fantastic one - am surprised that nobody commented so far on it. Anyway, here's the update.
Ananya is in her rooms, stunned that Jhanvi's body wasn't found. Mrs Vyas suggests that it's tough to say whether her words really had an effect on Viraj, or whether he's just playing another game. Ananya agrees, and Mrs Vyas leaves.
A deliveryman comes to Ananya's residence and delivers her an anonymous gift. Paromita asks her about it, and she tells her that it was anonymous. She opens it and sees a letter in English:
Let's forget about the problems of last year. Navi soch ke saath navi saal. I wish you a "Happy New Year"
Ananya assumes that it's from Viraj, and just then the phone rings. Ananya breaks out into her tirade against him, telling him to keep his new years wishes to himself, and that people like him would never improve. Paromita tries to calm her down, and after the call, asks her what Viraj said. Ananya tells her that there was no answer from the other line, and Paromita asks her whether she was sure that it was Viraj?
Later, at work, Ananya is going over some files, when suddenly Raj comes in and greets her for the new year. He asks her whether she liked his gift. Ananya is shocked and asks him why he made it anonymous, and he tries to cheer her up, telling her that her behavior today would set the trend for the year. Just then, they get an emergency call and head home.
At home, they see Paromita w/ a bandage on her brow, and instantly suspect that Viraj is behind it. The doctor tells them that she is fine. Viraj comes in w/ an envelope, and Ananya releases a barrage of abuse @ him. Paromita angrily stops her, and tells them that it was Viraj that saved her. She was hit by a car while crossing the road, and Viraj came up and saved her, and took her to hospital. The doctor also told them that it was Viraj who had called him. Viraj tells them that he had just brought the meds prescribed by the doctor.
Viraj then apologizes to Ananya, telling her that everything she had told him was fully deserved. He confessed that he wanted to steal her heart and return it to Jhanvi, but had realized that he couldn't restore one person's happiness by making someone else unhappy. He tells her that it was his love for Jhanvi that made him hostile to Ananya, and again, it was Jhanvi who got him to end the enmity. He tells Ananya to do anything to him that she likes, but please not hate him. With these words, he leaves. Mrs Vyas enters after that and is shocked to see Paromita. Ananya leaves in disgust, and Raj tells Mrs Vyas what happened. They decide to avoid discussing Viraj w/ Ananya.
Later, sitting alone, a thought strikes Ananya and she calls Viraj and asks to meet him. That evening, she visits Viraj and presents him a bouquet. She apologizes for being rude to him in return for his being helpful to her mom. She tells him that since he wishes to reform, that's up to him, and while she can forgive him for what he wanted to do to her, she can't forgive him for what he did to Jhanvi. Viraj is completely taken aback by this approach of hers, and looks suspicious rather than cordial. Ananya tells him that while they can never be friends, they'll no longer be enemies. With that, she takes her leave.
Unniyal is overhearing all this and asks Viraj whether he's changed. Viraj tells him that everything in life must change, except one thing: Viraj 'The Unchangable' Dobriyal. 'Hum badlega nahi, badla lega' He tells Unniyal that when he figured out that he had 2 adversaries, he had to change his plans about the heart. Unniyal is puzzled, and Viraj reveals how at the party, he overheard a conversation b/w Ananya & Mrs Vyas, and realized that she was in on the plot. He also mentions that she's an actor and a few other things as well. Unniyal asks him whether he wants to punish Ananya first or Mrs Vyas.
In Ananya's room, Viraj's response plays on the CD - 'That there will be no first or next here - with one strike, he'll hunt down 2 preys.', where the audience is Ananya, Raj, Mrs Vyas and Paromita. So they all know that Viraj knows what they've been up to. (Gee, this is almost like that Friends episode where Rachel/Phoebe know that Chandler/Monica know that Rachel/Phoebe know that Chandler/Monica are in a relationship, just that this one is more sinister 😆)
Precap: Viraj announces that this time, he will get Jhanvi's heart. Ananya says that if he comes into her life to get Jhanvi's heart, she will get justice for Jhanvi. Viraj says that everybody will be punished, and that this is the last straw. Ananya says that this time, she will achieve her mission, by hook, or... Viraj completes the sentence - ...or by crook.
