The stars lit up the night sky, and the moon glowed in all its splendor. The waves lapped against the sea shore, and a soft breeze blew over the sands. It was a beautiful night, a beautiful moment in time. Abhay leaned back against one of the sand dunes of the beaches, Piya leaning contentedly against his arms, listening to him whistle a song.
"Wow, Abhay," she murmured, snuggling closer to him. "I didn't know you could whistle in tune, you know, so beautifully" her tone was teasing, and at the same time, filled with love.
Abhay grinned, unable to resist planting a kiss on Piya's cheek, loving the blush that adorned her cheeks as soon as his lips touched her skin.
"Wow, we've been married over a year now, we're on our second honeymoon, and my dear wifey doesn't know about my talents" he said, his tone equally teasing, as his arms held her tight, his fingers caressing hers. "Should I be angry, love?"
Piya turned in his arms, flicking a finger against his nose lovingly. "No you should be proud that you have so many talents" she said, with a wink, almost melting as she took in his dimpled breathtaking smile. His eyes had a soft happy glow in them, the glow of a man loved, who has at last been free of his past demons and was now stepping into the light with the love of his life. And just like that, happy tears formed in her eyes. She lifted her hand, and brushed his lips with her fingers. "Can you believe it, Abhay? We've been married for over a year now."
"I can believe it, Piya" said Abhay, his eyes looking at her more intensely now in a way that never failed to make butterflies fly in her stomach. "I love you, my heart."
He pressed his lips to hers, sealing his confession with a kiss. After a long time they broke apart, smiling at each other."you're all I've ever dreamt and wished for Piya. you're the only one who believed in my light when I was in the dark. Of course I can believe this, my love. You're the one thing I've never failed to believe."
Piya's eyes glowed with love as tears fell from her eyes. "Oh Abhay.."
Abhay wiped the tears from her face, cupping her face close."Hush, Piya, no tears, remember? No more sadness. Just promise me one thing, Piya. You'll always be with me. If I'm a human, it's all because of you. Without you I'd still be a monst.."
"No, Abhay" Piya pressed her hands over his mouth, stopping him from saying further. "Don't say these things." Her gaze went up to the stars. "As long as the night belongs to the stars, No one will ever separate us. We are..forever.."
Abhay put a hand under her chin, turning her face so that she was looking at him again. "Forever." He whispered, leaning in to kiss her again.
The oceans and the stars and the wind all bore witness to the true love of these eternal soulmates...
If only the path of true love ran smooth...

2083, DEHRADOON
The forests didn't dare move, no animals made a sound for fear that they would become the next prey to this monster who'd terrorized the Dehradoon forests for the past 70 years. Humans hardly stepped in nowadays in the forest because all the people who had entered the forests ad never come out again. Alive at least. Rumours had spread, but no one dared come and investigate.

Abhay finished draining the last drops of blood from the deer he'd killed, the second one that day. He looked up, his eyes glowering an eerie red, devoid of any emotion. The idea of those eyes having once been blue was laughable, and any possibility of emotions would disappear from the mind as soon as they caught sight of his fangs, white and bared, and now dripping with blood. Sensing a movement near him, he turned.
"Who's death wish has brought him here?" he ground out, his voice cold and expressionless.
A young vampire came into view, visibly afraid of his leader whom he now addressed.
"Master, Advik escaped once more and he injured one of our vampires'"
Abhay's roar sent the forest trembling to its roots, and the young vampire stopped speaking.
"What do you do, you fools, that all of you can't stop a single vampire?" he roared, his voice furious.
"I-I don't'he always seems to attack when you are not present'Master'and he's so powerful'"
"And you all are a bunch of paper dolls without me, is it? that's why even all of you together are unable to control a single rebel vampire?" Abhay roared and added. "Make arrangements to kill the injured vampire. We have no use for weaklings now."
The other vampire looked shocked.
"What r you waiting for?" Abhay roared. He wiped the blood from his face, turning to go. "And arrange a meeting. We need to do something about that Advik. He's the only threat to us."

2083, NEW YORK
Piyali Rathod, or Piya as she was called, kept the phone back in her jeans, unable to keep the tears from falling. She had been named by her grandmother, after her grandmother's best friend and sister. Everyone said that she looked exactly like her. Same curly hair, same expressive, baby-brown eyes, she was a living reminder of Piya Dobriyal, or rather, Piya Raichand, who had broken Misha's heart when she had died mysteriously almost 70 years ago.
Piya sighed, coming back to the present. The call had been from her ancestral home in Dehradoon, India. Her grandmother had been sick for almost a year and was almost dying. She wished to meet Piya. It had been almost four years since Piya had last visited India. She had turned eighteen a month ago and had just finished school life. The last few years had kept her busy with her school life. She wiped her tears making a decision. She would go to Dehradoon at once and meet her grandmother. Also, she had holidays now, so going to India wouldn't be a problem. Little did she know that her one decision would change her life forever...
2083, DEHRADOON
Alina Khurana clenched her fists, trying to control her fury, as the other werewolves brought in yet another werewolf and laid him at her feet. Another member of their clan dead. She looked up at the skies, her eyes tearing up slightly, the fury not completely gone. "Forgive me, Mom, forgive me, Jeh, I failed you yet again."
Her mother had been so right. Her brother had been so right. These vampires were not ones to be trusted. They were dark, ruthless, creatures against nature who didn't deserve to exist. The vampires had almost taken over the supernatural world, and no one could combat their dark powers. The members of the werewolf clan were steadily dwindling, and at this rate, would be wiped out quite soon.
Alina looked up at the two young werewolves who had brought the dead one in.
"Where?" she asked in a sharp voice.
"By the river, not far from the vampire coven." Murmured one of them, his eyes fixed on his dead friend. "He must have died two days ago, in the last vampire attack, Alina. We discovered his body today. Another grudge to be held against that Abhay Raichand."
At the mention of Abhay's name, Alina closed her eyes briefly, the ghost of a long-forgotten pain, flitting across her face. She'd loved him once, loved him all those years ago, believing him to be different. She'd gone against her mother, her brother, her entire clan to save him. To save a vampire. Alina laughed in her mind. She could never forgive herself for that. He'd come back and destroyed her entire world. It was hanging by threads now, only around fifty werewolves remaining. Her family was long gone. Abhay had come back as the leader of the vampires and he had turned out to be the darkest leader any supernatural had ever seen. Even humans who had crossed paths had been killed in the crossfire, unsuspecting victims of the war of the supernatural world, a war where victory was within reach of the vampires. Alina's eyes glittered with a new determination. She would not give up. She would fight, fight till her last breath. She would fight Abhay and those vampires with all she had.
"We need to change tactics" she told the two werewolves, keeping her voice strong."Gather the others. We will have a funeral for our lost friend. Then we will discuss what to do."
