In my personal opinion, I think what Sandy did was great BUT it was more of a charity...the purpose was to seek blessing from brahmins for the baby to be born...Sandy could have bought food for the kids or escorted them to some dhaba / restaurant...but the food that was brought and cooked at home was only meant for brahmins...So it was a mistake...but a noble mistake...
Rani jee...do you think all 98 people would feed the same brahmins???? Come on...every family has its own set of brahmins to feed...they invite them to temple and feed them...it is not like any family can walk in and start feeding the same set of brahmins...if all families feed the same brahmins then only one family can do so and other have to wait for the next day and next day and next day...
A child is a more innocent think in the world. Feeding and helping a hungry child is way more charity and more blessing then given men who are clearly being feed too much and can only eat so much. There must be hundreds of people coming down to feed them . I think after the second plate they would be full. so what would happen to all those remaining 98 other people waiting for the blessing to come there way since the Brahmins are already full and cannot eat any more. There is no mistake in gods eyes when you feed someone who is hungry.. be it a child, and animal or an adult. If she had gone out and bought food like you said then let me tell you her stuck up mother in law and her stupid sister in law would have made an even bigger issue of that. .
