OK, can we all agree that this Cure is not going to Cure anything in
Mystic Falls? Tonight the search starts on Vampire Diaries.
They've got the tombstone. They've got the tattoo. They've got the witch. What else do they need? Robert Smith circa 1984?
A year ago, Professor Shane is hot but we don't trust him at all was out
in the woods searching for a cute. He found a cave. The cave had words
written on the side with a dark well in the middle. But he didn't have
all the puzzle parts. Now he's back near Nova Scotia with Damon, Stefan,
Elena, Rebekah, Bonnie and Jeremy.
According to Jeremy's tats, Silas the original vampire, was buried alive
in the cave along with a cure for immortality. They all take a little
hike and Elena and Rebekah are not getting along because she doesn't see
any point in Elena being around.
Klaus is still stuck in Elena's living room by Bonnie's spell. Tyler tells Klaus that he'd really like to kill him. Klaus says that he killed Tyler's mother and
now his brother Kol is dead so they're even. Caroline says nope. So
Klaus stabs her and then sucks her blood. Tyler begs Klaus to save her
life. He says he'll be Klaus' slave again. But Klaus refuses to help.
Shane said his wife and son died within months of each other, so used
the cave and some drops of blood to try and bring them back. He said he
saw his wife and her smile, and that his blood let him see her again.
Damon isn't buying it.
There are traps all around. Suddenly someone tries to kill Jeremy with a
hatchet. Shane takes them to a cabin where a bunch of college kids
came for spring break and then died. Elena promises Damon that her
feelings for him won't die if the sire bond is broken.
Bonnie is worried about the spell. Shane says he'll protect her, unlike
his wife who died when she tried to resurrect their son who died in a
car accident. It's his dead wife who told him to find the spell and
bring back Silas. She says that a lot of people have to die because the
witch will need all the dead people's energy to work the spell.
In the middle of the night, Jeremy is kidnapped. They're all looking
for him. Bonnie tries a locator spell involving fire which does not
seem like a great idea in the woods.
Three big massacres are needed. Two have already happened – the pastor
and the hybrids. mmm. One more to go. Damon starts beating up Professor
Shane to get him to fess up. Elena steps in and stops Damon from
killing the professor. Damon says he doesn't want Elena to be cured. He
says if she's cured she'll grow old and die and he stays a vampire so
their relationship won't work out. Oh Buffy and Angel, we've walked
down that path before.Elena says Damon should take the cure with her. But Damon doesn't
want to be human again. Alas, impasse. Suddenly Bonnie is missing and
Shane's stuff is all gone, along with the tombstone.
Klaus is watching Caroline die. He says it's so Tyler will learn a
lesson. Caroline says it's because Klaus was hurt and that there's
still a part of him that's human. She says she knows Klaus loves her
and she wishes she could forget all the horrible things he's done. It's
like the longest death scene ever.
Finally, after a lot of whimpering and rasping, Klaus opens up a vein and Caroline drinks his blood.
Elena, Rebekah and Stefan are stuck together because they don't know where anyone else is.
Turns out, they're all in the middle of a clearing. Shane, Bonnie,
Jeremy and some random guy we don't know. Damon is following them when
he's attacked by one the Five. The hunter breaks Damon's neck and
leaves him in the woods.
Next week: They try and find the cure.
