devan - ur best perfomance

shailaja - sruthi konjam parthukongo

* aravind srinivas - tu hi tu (selected)

sowmya - out of the world! tonal quality, modulation & attitude all good

mahathi - u imitated shankar's voice, muffled voice

* mahitha - bada natakhat (wait list)

shailaja - dry, balance-a illa, singing in false voice

* sanjay - thu badi mashe allah (selected)

u danced like in pondicherry - soumya 

mahathi - nice singer, pallavi was beautiful, charanam didn't fit in

shuba - loved what u did, comfort level was obvious

* shirley - ??? (wait list)

smart song selection, more energy needed - devan

pick another genre - soumya

* srikanth - apni zulfein mere shano (selected)

amazing breath control, small improvements, work on it - mahathi 

Wonder when they will start reducing the numbers and get the show moving.. 

 

Totally agree with jaysvimal. Dragging to the core.

Confused with the need of free style round now with more than 40 + contestants.

Looks like even in this round they will eliminate only around 5 ppl 😕. 

This week, Rizwan's "Saiyaan" was surprising.  He has his limitations but despite that he put up a good performance.  I admire his mental strength to fight against all odds.👍🏼

Aravind Srinivas's "Tu hi tu" lacked the emotion & CRY of the song otherwise okay.  His finishing touch to each sentence was lacking.  

Diwakar - expected much more from him.  His voice sounded like SM in some places (IF it is intentional, then he needs to cut it down but if it was "natural", I applaud him.)  Ran out of breath in some parts.  But otherwise, I'd rate it better than Aravind's song.

Mahitha - "Bada Natkhat hai" What made her choose that song?  A brilliant, emotional song by Lata.  LM would have POURED emotions into that song that it makes you weep.  A brilliant movie on the whole.  Mahitha's was totally EMOTIONLESS.  She tried to save the song with her "sangathi" skills.  WRONG CHOICE OF SONG to do that, girl.   She was playing hide-and-seek with her breath.

 

Sanjay - "Tu badi maasha allah" - Except for pronunciation, it was good but not excellent.  Again expected more from him.

Ganesh - Good composition and brave enough to sing it at this stage.👏  Since it was his own, I'd say he sang VERY WELL.  Mahathi did not need to comment on his composition.  Reserve your comments on contestant's singing alone.  DO WE NEED TO SAY ANYTHING about compositions these days ????!!!!!! 😛  

Shirley - "Dhoom macha le" - Pronunciation was not good.  "Dhoom" sounded like "Dhoo".  AND it sounded more like "shouting" rather than the judges comments about "throw" in her voice.  And ESSENCE of the song was missing.

Srikkanth -  "Apni zulfen" was EXCELLENT except some parts sounded more "carnatic".

AND A REQUEST TO ALL CONTESTANTS & the judges 😛:  PLEASE DO NOT DANCE OR "perform" for the SAKE OF IT.   It looks gross... 😆  IT is meant for "natural" performers and not for people upon whom it is forced upon - no matter what the reason or excuse is !!!!!!!!!!  

Dancing needs to have some grace in it  --  Prabhu Deva, SRK, Our own KAMAL Hassan, Madhuri Dixit, MJ -  all are the BEST EXAMPLES of GRACEFUL dancers / performers.
