When Star Plus can come up with Nach Baliye Shriman V/s Shrimati, Sony TV can start up Indian Idol Junior, then why Zee TV should be left behind. With one of the most successful dance realty show in its bandwagon, Zee has decided to add a more mature variant in its legacy.
Coming up with a concept unique to Indian Television, Zee TV has announced launch ofDance India Dance Super Moms. In DID little Masters season 2 after shaking leg with contestant Deep's Mom, impressed Mithun da had suggested DID to bring up a season for super moms. Guess that is what might have kick started the idea for Esselvision Productions (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012, India's Best Dramebaaz).
Revealing the thought behind the concept Mr. Ajay Bhalwankar, ZEE Content Head (Hindi GEC) states that "Through every edition of Dance India Dance, be it for adults or li'l kids, we have seen the mothers of all contestants expressing a desire to dance. After seeing them take to the stage so confidently, we thought of showcasing their talent and providing them a platform. They are moms who are passionate about dancing but have never got the opportunity. They are women who don't believe that marriage and kids are a hindrance between them and their dreams. Our criteria does not change for this series just because they are mothers. Our audiences can be rest assured that their dancing will surely be of the high standard that DID contestants are synonymous with."
The selected moms will be trained by their skippers, who came to limelight through DIDand are now established choreographers. While the mommies across the nation are ready to groove, suspense is maintained as who will be judging the show.
We expect Grandmaster Mithun Da to stay put in his seat but the usual panel of judges may take a miss with their upcoming shows – Geeta in India's Dancing Superstar,Terence in Nach Baliye Shriman V/s Shrimati and Remo's movie commitments andJhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. The show is still in nascent stage and we are yet to find out if Jay Bhanushali will be holding the mike.
Auditions have already started with Zee TV calling for entries in 15 cities Mumbai, Delhi, Raipur, Kolkata, Indore, Patna, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jammu, Ranchi, Ahmedabad and Bangalore. For audition date and venue please visit Zee TV's official website.
